As many of my close family and friends know, I am such a HUGE advocate for all things therapy and mental health. Mental health matters - and it's amazing how much release we get when we engage in therapy, journaling, and so on to "release the pressure." Unfortunately, the stigma is still out there. Every 40 seconds, someone loses their life to suicide. For LGBTQ+ youth, the struggle can be even more intense given the lack of knowledge, resources, and support that may be available to them. That’s why The Trevor Project is so vital—it provides a lifeline of support, offering 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people. Let’s break the stigma around mental health, be there for each other, and raise awareness. Share resources, check in on your loved ones, and remember that "it’s okay to not be okay." If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out to The Trevor Project for confidential support: www.thetrevorproject.org Together, we can create a world where no one feels alone. 💙 #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #MentalHealthMatters #TheTrevorProject #LGBTQYouth #BreakTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone

Hopelab’s Amy Green and the Child Mind Institute’s Yuki Kotani, MBA discuss how to make digital care solutions accessible and fit the needs of diverse populations by engaging youth at all stages of research. “Access,” as Dr. Green explains, “is making sure the services available do not further alienate groups like Black, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ youth.” This conversation is part of our series on Technology and Youth Mental Health, which asks how we can improve mental health outcomes for all young people. We want you to be your truest, MOST authentic self-- and therapy can help you get there. ⭐️ We are educating our clinicians and communities about the importance of caring for the unique mental health needs of the queer community. We know the statistics: 60% of LGBTQ+ youth who wanted mental health care in the past year were not able to get it and nearly half of LGBTQ+ youth seriously consider suicide. It's not enough to know the statistics; we must do something about them. Follow along this month as we share tips from our therapists on how to support everyone's journey to authenticity. #therapyiscool #utahmentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters
