It's crucial to recognise the signs, so remember F.A.S.T: F - Face: Notice any drooping, even through a screen. A - Arms: Ask them to lift their arms; can they? S - Speech: Listen closely for any slurring or confusion. T - Time: Every second counts; don't hesitate to act. Understanding the signs can make a difference. Advance care planning is for EVERYONE. If you're 37, in perfect health, and at the top of your game - you will not live forever. If you're 89 and recently diagnosed with a terminal illness - you will not live forever. It can feel daunting to think about, but making decisions and having conversations with the person who will be our voice is a brave and caring act for ourselves and for those who might one day make decisions on our behalf. Lean into the edge of your comfort zone. Taking inventory and making these decisions can give us great insight into our values, who we are, and what is important to us, and how we want to live.
