For more than three decades, Tenaris has supplied high specification line pipe products and coating systems to the North Sea region as part of its one line package of services. The acquisition of the chocolate coating business comprising the facilities in Orkanger strengthens our local presence in Norway and enhances our in-house capabilities to consistently serve. Norwegian customers for their complex offshore projects. Tenaris is very well positioned to serve its Norwegian customers for their projects, having industrial presence and a well established supply chain locally and in Europe. Providing assistance close by and a lower carbon footprint to support the energy transition to Naris. Developing new pipeline materials with enhanced resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion caused by CO2 impurities. And are offering new products from its terror portfolio for hydrogen applications. Being selected for the 100 kilometre, 12 inch pipeline for the Northern Lights CCS project has been pivotal and one of the most important projects we are proud to be part of.
💧 Decarbonizing steel with clean #hydrogen is possible and Italy is ready to demonstrate its feasibility.
Among the various projects that are being established for the use of the carrier in the steel field is today also the initiative signed Snam, TenarisDalmine and Tenova.
The companies have embarked on a collaboration to introduce H2 into a steel product processing plant.
This is happening in Dalmine, where Tenaris, the largest global manufacturer and supplier of tubes, will initiate a unique experiment in Italy.
At the same steel site, an electrolysis system will be installed, and the hydrogen produced will fuel a burner for the rolling of the pipes.
The production of iron and steel with current technologies requires large amounts of coal. As a result, large amounts of CO2 are released.
For precision, it has been calculated that the manufacture of 1 tonne of steel emits on average about 1.85 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

🎤 At the recent World Hydrogen North America Congress, we were joined by Cameron Hibbert, the Director for North America at Johnson Matthey.
Cameron talks through the recent announcement of their collaboration with thyssenkrupp Uhde on their blue ammonia solution, the importance of partnerships in developing the hydrogen ecosystem the hyper growth' of project development and demand for hydrogen in the pipeline.
"The economics need to be world class. The technology needs to be proven and bankable. In a risk adverse industry, you need a strong business case. It's not just about partnerships, though that's a very important element, but it's about the ecosystem working from feedstocks all the way through to end users...Developing this ecosystem and working across the value chain to be able to de-risk capital intensive projects is an important role for [us] to be successful in this space".

“Westfalen to supply #greenhydrogen to ArcelorMittal France from 2026”
- Charlie Currie - Jul 23, 2024
“After criticising a lack of #greenhydrogensupply in Europe, ArcelorMittal could finally secure the #cleanenergycarrier to #decarbonise some of its #steelproduction .”
“German #industrialgas firm Westfalen Group has said its first #electrolyser is being built in northeast France which will supply the #steel major’s plant in Florange.”
“Having been a supplier of #greyhydrogen to ArcelorMittal since 2010, Westfalen France says it will replace the #gas with #electrolytichydrogen from 2026 under a supply contract that will run into the 2040s.”
“However, Benjamin Bugeat, Managing Director of Westfalen France, claimed the electrolyser was designed to supply additional #hydrogen quantities, with plans to construct a #hydrogenrefuelling nearby.”
“Having announced plans and secured some €3.5bn in subsidies to convert European #steelplants to run on #hydrogen#directreducediron (#DRI) technology, ArcelorMittal planned to initially use #naturalgas in DRI before switching to hydrogen.”
“Under its “Innovative DRI” plans, the company plans to transition its #blastfurnace plants to DRI processes using green hydrogen and/or #electricarcfurnaces (#EAF) to clean up its operations.”

🌍 What if the future of energy could be cleaner and more sustainable?
Adnoc is taking a significant step forward by acquiring a 35% stake in ExxonMobil’s proposed low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Baytown, Texas. This partnership is not just about investment; it’s about shaping the future of clean energy.
Imagine a world where hydrogen fuels our industries and transportation with minimal emissions—this facility aims to produce up to 1 billion cubic feet of low-carbon hydrogen daily, effectively removing 98% of CO2 emissions during production! 🌱💨
By joining forces, ADNOC and ExxonMobil are positioning themselves to lead the charge in reducing greenhouse gas emissions across hard-to-decarbonize sectors. This aligns perfectly with global demands for lower-carbon fuels and accelerates our journey towards a net-zero future.
Together, we can fuel a sustainable future. 🚀
