🇫🇷 Two French companies are joining forces to push the #decarbonization of maritime transport. H2 producer Lhyfe and e-fuel company Elyse Energy plan to develop together 🤝 a project to produce e-methanol from #greenhydrogen within the port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire. Lhyfe is working on building an industrial unit at the Montoir-de-Bretagne site that could produce up to 85 tons per day of green and renewable hydrogen, with debut operations starting in 2028. Great to see two French actors, including Hy24’s portfolio company Elyse Energy, deploying their expertise to build a greener future for the maritime sector. 🚢 https://lnkd.in/djSdz64C

Enagás gets the first go-ahead ✅ from Spain’s government to start developing the Spanish section of the #H2MED pipeline. The flagship #hydrogen pipeline project aims to connect the Iberian Peninsula 🇪🇸🇵🇹 to France 🇫🇷 and Central Europe by 2030. Not only does the move fit Enagas’ transition from its role as a natural gas grid operator to managing a network of hydrogen infrastructure: it is also in line with Spain’s plans to become a European hub for #greenH2. Immersion passionnante dans le garage d'HYSETCO, le plus grand du genre en Europe, dédié à l’entretien et la réparation des taxis à #hydrogène. 🚖 Situé à Saint Denis, l’atelier peut accueillir 40 à 60 véhicules par jour et assurer leur maintenance grâce au savoir-faire de ses techniciens. Plus que jamais engagé dans le déploiement d’une #mobilité décarbonée, HysetCo, qu'Hy24 soutient via son Clean H2 Infra Fund, a également inauguré récemment 4 nouvelles stations de distribution dans la région parisienne afin d’alimenter la flotte de taxis qu’elle loue. Et aujourd’hui, ce sont plus de 500 véhicules qui circulent en région Île-de-France… contre 5 en 2015. A major collaboration has been inked to study the creation of Spain’s first aviation #hydrogen hub. ✈️ 🤝 Airbus is partnering with Aena, Air Nostrum, Iberia, Exolum and Repsol to work on how to best integrate hydrogen-powered aircrafts into the airport ecosystem, focusing on H2 supply, infrastructure and the specific requirements for ground operations at airports. H2 Green Steel is poised to bring a 740MW #greenhydrogen project to life. ✅ But how did the Swedish startup, which had no experience as a steel producer or project developer, manage to raise €6.5 billion in private finance and government funding? In an interview with Hydrogen Insight, Otto Gernandt, Chief Financial Officer at H2 Green Steel, discusses the financial strategy of this “group of people sitting in an office in Stockholm,” who was able to launch this venture to build Europe’s largest #greensteel plant in Boden. 🇸🇪 👉 This project, which Hy24 is supporting via its Clean H2 Infra Fund, is key to help #decarbonize the steel industry at scale. 🔍 Financial Times takes a closer look at the potential of #greenhydrogen to decarbonize steel manufacturing, with a focus on our portfolio company H2 Green Steel. The Swedish 🇸🇪 company, which we are pleased to support, aims at building the world’s first large-scale #greensteel plant in Boden, with production of 5 million tons annually by 2030. This pioneering project could serve as a blueprint for decarbonizing steelmaking in Europe and beyond. As Henrik Henriksson, chief executive of H2 Green Steel, says: “This is our first project, not our last.” 👉 Steel production is still responsible for 7 to 9% of the world’s annual CO2 emissions, making its #decarbonization crucial to reach #netzero goals.
