How can personalized guest experiences drive growth and profitability in the hospitality industry?   In today's competitive market, personalized guest experiences are more than a luxury—they're essential for driving revenue and profitability. Tailoring each stay to the unique preferences of our guests not only enhances satisfaction but also significantly boosts our bottom line. This applies to both team members and guests. Focusing on the team gives them a sense of purpose, encourages them to create a unique experience for the guests they serve, and increases retention. In the past, it seems as though personalized guest experiences have been reserved for the top brands such as Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria. However, these experiences can and should be scaled to create a unique and memorable stay regardless of the brand.  Lately, I have been obsessed with Will Guidara’s book, Unreasonable Hospitality. In this book, Will shares a story of an instance where he overheard a group of patrons at his restaurant discussing their food tour of NYC. They expressed one regret; they hadn’t eaten a NYC hot dog. Will immediately went down the street, bought a hot dog, and convinced his partner/chef to serve the hot dog. The patrons were amazed and left with a completely unique experience that will last a lifetime. This story illustrates that unique and highly impactful experiences don’t need to be expensive. All it takes to provide personalized service is an attentive ear and a team member that is empowered to make things happen.  In future a future post, I will outline how we leverage guest data to both create unique experiences and build lasting guest relationships. Here are 4 metrics that helped us double a hotel restaurants revenue (Compared to the same period last year.) 1/ Utilisation Rate Why: This shows how many times your restaurant has been 100% occupied - it's a great benchmark for the team to work towards. 2/ Revenue By Booking Source Why: See where your guests are coming from and look at ways you can grow further. Look at the ones that aren't working and test new ideas. 3/ Average Check Per Employee Why: See who are your best sales people and have them on the shifts that count! 4/ Revenue By Meal Period Vs Last 13 Weeks Why: Look at the meal periods growing the quickest and double down on them. Metrics alone don't guarantee success But they do enable your team to be more strategic in their decisions Because the days of total revenue and average check are over You just have to embrace a different mindset And think differently!
