SLEEP BETTER TONIGHT: SLEEP AND EXERCISE Saturday was National Health and Fitness Day in Canada. While the benefits of exercise on general well-being are well-known, did you know exercise can greatly impact your sleep? ·      30 minutes of exercise can help you sleep better, tonight. And the good news is any type of exercise can help – from weights to walking to yoga!   ·      Early research shows exercise may have a similar effect as a sleeping pill in helping to decrease insomnia, yet more studies are needed.   ·      Exercise can release endorphins that keep you awake, so the best bet is to save exercise for earlier in the day. Plan to complete your exercise at least 1-2 hours before your bedtime.   ·      Overall, exercise can calm the mind and stabilize your mood, helping you drift off to sleep more easily!   Want to learn more about healthy sleep?
