Dedicated and passionate about guiding people and teams toward greatness. I thrive on empowering growth, every day.
Is it really a whole week since I set off to London to get ready for my first London Marathon? "How was it?" I've had a few people ask.. It's hard to put into words, but I'll have a go at a few that come to mind: 👟Epic 👟Euphoric 👟Tough 👟Emotional 👟Rewarding The hardest part was the months of training, the build up, the stress of working out how to get to London when there's train strikes. And then there's the packing - I've never packed so much for a weekend away (energy gels, hydration, snacks to name a few items that took up a fair bit of space). It's true what experienced runners told me - the marathon itself is your lap of honour. I can vouch for this - London felt like one big party and whilst I wished the pain towards the end away, the brilliant memories will last a lifetime. The crowd support was spectacular and uplifting. The rewarding bit comes down to smashing my charity target for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All of the well wishes and donations flooding in as the big day arrived was a great motivator I'm so grateful for every one of them. And so to the next challenge - the Giacom mission to conquer the Keswick 3 Peaks. Can't wait! Just in case you didn't get a moment to sponsor me and would like to, here is my charity link. The Make-A-Wish Foundation make magical dreams come true for kids who are suffering. Such a great cause. https://lnkd.in/ejsSUTYB #londonmarathon #personalchallenge #running #makeawishfoundation #giacom #charitychallenge #greatplacetowork

INDI to IBIZA 🌴 #EveryMileMatters Project Indi will embark on a challenge to move a distance of 1,477 miles – equivalent to the distance from The Indi Club to Ibiza Airport, in just ONE WEEK! The ultimate challenge will take place on April 20th to 26th, and we aim to collectively achieve our target through rowing, cycling, walking, or running. All funds raised will support Project Indi. Due to the cost-of-living crisis and escalating expenses, the cost of providing our services is at an all-time high. We need your support so we can continue to make a difference and support vulnerable adults and children in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas. Get involved! Can you help us reach our goal? We’re looking for individuals, organisations, and sports groups to help us reach our target by contributing and pledging miles. Here’s how you can get involved: ❤️Pledge Your Miles: Set your personal target and track your miles independently. You can update us on your progress, or link to our group challenge on Strava. 💚Plan an Activity: Organise a group event to clock up some miles with your workplace, sports team or community group. 💙Join our Group Activities: Come along to our scheduled group events happening throughout the week to assist us in reaching our goal. 💛Exercise Bike Station: Drop by The Indi Club to use our exercise bikes and support our fundraising efforts. The bikes will be available all week, and we can reserve a slot for you. Every mile you contribute, no matter the distance, will support our mission! This inclusive challenge is open to all, and we invite everyone to participate. Every Mile Matters. Contact us to get involved! We would love to hear from you! ⬇️ 📧 info@projectindi.org.uk Support our journey ❤️ If you would like to donate to support our journey, please click the link below: https://lnkd.in/eir-ziQg We can't wait to get started! 🙌 #EveryMileMatters #INDItoIbiza #stokeontrent #Staffordshire #charity #fundraiser #fundraisingevent

I’ve always had a passion for volunteering As a child, I used to sit with my Nan as she did shifts in the local charity shop “Take what you need in life Colette, but also give as much as you can” Her words resonate with me today. In all areas of my life When I can combine passions this is a win win for me. So when my weekly accountabilty run, Parkrun needs volunteers I’m there Those not familiar with parkrun this is a weekly FREE 5k run round your local park, that is timed. There are 100’s at these local events each week where you can walk, run or even race…! It has been cited in many people’s fitness journeys over the years, and is an amazing community of like minded people I run (and sometimes race…) Parkrun regularly. I also volunteer as a Marshall, timekeeper and this time round I was a funnel manager The events can’t go ahead without volunteers. So, at least once a month I hang up my trainers and don a high vis vest and contribute where I can When working with charities, I have to remind my heart that they are a business. They have P&L like the rest of us, they have staff, they have objectives, they have firm KPIs (the team at Cariad Marketing Limited love working with charities) Where possible I will always encourage participation to support the ones we work with, and the ones that are held dear to our clients What charities or organisations do you volunteer for? Would be great to give them a platform The ones I personally support are in the comments #charity #marketing #volunteeringmatters

That's why we're kicking off the New Year with an exciting fitness challenge, and we'd love your support! Our team members (including fitness fanatics, rowers, football fans, paddle boarders, hikers, cyclists, and hockey players) are coming together to tackle a monumental mission - to virtually travel from the UK to New Zealand*. 🏃♂️🚴♀️🏊♀️ We've started recording our distances covered through common activities like running, walking, biking, swimming, paddleboarding and rowing. And here's the best part - we're inviting you to join us on this adventure! As well as donating, you can join our Strava team and together, we'll raise funds for FareShare UK, a remarkable charity that's making a huge difference.** So, let's unite for this incredible cause, boost our wellbeing, give back to local communities, and contribute to global goals. 👉 Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eKZ3zza4 _ _ _ _ _ _ * Why New Zealand, you ask? At One Impossible Thing we want to break down barriers that impede people from participating in sport. Redistributing preloved sports shoes to those who struggle to afford them, is our main way of doing this. But we also know that sometimes motivation is a barrier from getting out there and being active. Which is why we're involved in organising the Boxmoor Virtual Marathon! The idea is to run, bike, scoot, walk, swim or wheel your way through the 26 miles/42kms, over a ten week period. In this Olympic year, the virtual marathon starts when the Olympic Flame arrives in France on 8th May. You have until mid July to complete your marathon, so you can have your finishers medal in time for the Olympic Opening Ceremony! It’s a great challenge for families, who can get out together on their bikes or on a walk together. If you do 5kms each week, you’ll have completed your marathon by July, with time to spare! All money raised through sponsorship will ensure we can carry on with all the work we do with schools, homeless charities, refugees groups and school holiday activity camps. Once registered, you can ask families and friends to sponsor you. If you ask 10 people for £10, that’s £100 you’ve raised! For more information and to register, click on the link: https://lnkd.in/d8aYqCTG #fundraisingchallenge #motivation #sportforall

The London Marathon ballot results will be dropping tomorrow. If you get accepted, please remember that you are extremely fortunate to get a place. The chances are very slim, as the demand for these places is far higher than ever. Respect the event, the training that is required, and embrace the incredible journey which will lead you to the start line on the 27th April 2025. If you don’t get a place, then run for a charity. Do not let the fundraising put you off. I appreciate things are tough at the moment, and fundraising may be a little harder. Replace the narrative of I “have” to fundraise £2000 to run the London Marathon, to I “get” to fundraise to change the lives of others as well as my own. If you want to run a marathon for yourself, for a quick time, and have no interest in raising money for charity, then pick something else. Want to run the greatest marathon and biggest fundraiser on the planet? Then don’t whine about fundraising. The experience is priceless, and easily worth the effort of some well timed emails, cake sales, quiz nights, or more creative methods. It’s life changing. If you’re running with one of my charities, then you are going to get my everything to get you on that start-line. This picture was taken on the morning of the 2019 event. Well over 500 runners raising over £1.4million for disabled children. It’s always very humbling, and quite emotional, to say my last words to these teams before they take on the streets of London. The @londonmarathon isn’t just a running event ❤️ …if you do want another option though…the Flawed Hero Marathon 2025 is going to be epic 🔥 #londonmarathon #londonmarathontraining #londonmarathonballot #running @londonmarathon #thecharityrunner #PreFormance #nikerunning #flawedhero #flawedheromarathon

Happy New year! The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on the past year and set goals for the year ahead. It's also a good time to start fresh and make changes in your life that you've been wanting to make. If you're looking for some inspiration, here are a few ideas for things you can do on January 1st: 1. Write down your goals for the year ahead. What do you want to achieve? Once you know what you want to achieve, you can start making a plan to get there. 2. Spend time with loved ones. The start of a new year is a great time to connect with the people you care about. Make some time to be with your family and friends and enjoy each other's company. 3. Start a new habit. Have you been wanting to start a new habit, such as exercising more or eating healthier? January 1st is a great day to start. 4. Do something nice for someone else. The start of a new year is a great time to spread some kindness. Do something nice for someone else, whether it's holding a door open for them or donating to a charity they care about. Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2024! #DoinnforGood #turnovercleanings #airbnb #airbnbcleaning #predictivedata #vrbo #vacationrentals #propertymanagers #holidayrentals #holidayhome #vacationrentals #propertymanagement #propertymanager #airbnbhost

Participating in the Champagne & Oyster Cycling Club of Monaco’s Annual St. Tropez to Monaco Charity Bike Ride for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation was an inspiring and humbling experience. As we pedaled through the stunning landscapes, it struck me how similar this journey is to the path companies take when striving for growth and success. Just like a long-distance ride, building and nurturing a business requires endurance, teamwork, and a clear vision of the goal. Fundraising for a charity and for a business share common threads. Both require: 1. A compelling story: Whether it’s a cause close to our hearts or a business vision, the story behind the effort motivates and mobilizes support. 2. Commitment and passion: Dedication to the cause or the business is vital. It’s the driving force that keeps us going, even when the journey gets tough. 3. Community and support: Success is never achieved alone. It’s the community’s support, whether it’s fellow cyclists, donors, investors, or customers, that propels us forward. 4. Milestones and goals: Setting clear milestones helps track progress and keeps the momentum alive, be it in fundraising or business development. Riding for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation reminded me of the impact we can make when we align our efforts with our values. The funds raised will support projects that teach children essential water safety skills, potentially saving lives and empowering communities. Let’s carry the same spirit of dedication and purpose into our professional endeavors. Together, we can drive meaningful progress, whether it’s for a charitable cause or a business venture. Thank you to everyone who supported this event and to those who continuously support our professional and philanthropic journeys. Let’s keep pushing boundaries and making a difference, one step (or pedal) at a time. #Charity #Fundraising #CyclingForACause #BusinessGrowth #CommunitySupport #PrincessCharleneFoundation #Inspiration #ProfessionalJourney #monaco #cocc

As we gear up for our 5th charity ball, reflecting on the journey, we can't help but feel a renewed sense of purpose. This year, we're back stronger than ever. Traditionally, my charity challenges have been marked by rest, sleep-outs for the homeless, and wild adventures supporting organizations like Loros. However, this milestone year called for something extraordinary. Over a few brainstorming sessions with my dream team – the incredible charity cyclist Darren and the marathon man Kevin – we pondered over a challenge that would not only commemorate the occasion but also push our limits. The idea of a triathlon emerged, but seasoned Darren cautioned that it might not attract the attention we seek. Enter Kev, with his wisdom, suggesting a catchy name for the event – and so, the "Fiveathlon" challenge was born. Picture this: 5 half Ironmans 70.3 miles, in 5 diverse locations, spanning 5 consecutive days. It's not just a physical feat but a testament to the power of collaboration. We're not just running for ourselves – we're running for a cause. We are supporting our 3 finalists of charity of the year, STEPS, FOCUS and HEARTWIZE. These worthy charities fuels our motivation. My role in this endeavor? Well, according to my dream team, it's to get in shape – having never swam in open water and carrying a fair few extra pounds there’s some work to do and here's my public commitment to it. By sharing this, I'm hoping it becomes a source of motivation and accountability. But we can't do this alone. We're calling on our network, friends, and colleagues to join us for a leg of this journey and, more importantly, to support us in raising funds for these great charities. Stay tuned for updates from Kev as he navigates the logistics, and feel free to ask me about my training – I'll need all the accountability I can get! Let's make this Fivathlon challenge more than just a physical feat; let's turn it into a testament to the strength of community and the impact we can create together. 🏃♂️🌈 #Fivathlon #CharityRun#CommunityImpact
