How to get more responses from recruiters. A few quick tips that anyone can use to get more responses from recruiters. I think the last tip is so simple and easy that most people won’t do it. 😭 If you try or have tried these let me know in the comments below 👇

Pros and cons of working with a third-party Recruiter, let’s break it down. PROS:  - You have a trusted source directly recommending you to the hiring team - Sometimes the company doesn’t post their role and only relies on targeted recruiting efforts by a third-party Recruiter  - You have someone to look out for your best interests when it comes to negotiating an offer - You’ll have someone looking out for other opportunities for you CONS: - Just because you speak with a Recruiter, doesn’t mean they’re going to present you to their client (you are free to apply directly if they say they’re not going to present you).  Companies pay third-party Recruiters to find them the right person, and unfortunately not everyone is the right fit.

To all the companies that use multiple recruiting agencies to fill their vacancies, please stop that. 1 or 2 trusted agencies recruiting for one role simultaneously (or near simultaneously) is already too much confusing to the candidates. Due to the fear of missing out (#fomo), candidates apply for 1 role 2 times, 3 times, etc., just so they can increase their chances of getting shortlisted. It becomes even more confusing for the recruiting agencies themselves (I bet!) when they end up recommending same candidate(s) to their client. I had a testimony from a candidate that was reprimanded by one recruiter for not disclaiming that he had applied for the same position as advertised by another recruiting agency. Can you imagine that? 🤔 How was the candidate wrong? And then we are wondering why we are not filling the roles effectively and cost-effectively.

AKA an external or independent recruiter, is a professional hired by companies to help them find and screen candidates for job openings. Unlike in-house recruiters who work directly for a specific company, third-party recruiters are external entities, often employed by staffing agencies or working independently. They connect employers with potential employees, seeking to match candidates with the right job opportunities based on their skills and qualifications. I order for these third party recruiters to make money, candidates must meet all criteria. Third party recruiters de-risk the hire, this warranting a premium to be paid for the recruiting service.

As a candidate, this is the worst mistake you can make. Your online application likely won’t get viewed, the recruiter has the relationship with the client, and we know how to represent you to them to make your candidacy more attractive and competitive. If you’re on the job hunt and a recruiter reaches out, know that we do not disclose clients names until we have a phone conversation for this very reason.
