Mariem Mhadhbi, Founder and CEO of ValueCo, rightly points out that “sustainability isn't just a buzzword—it's a fundamental shift in our financial landscape.” In today's dynamic market, businesses must embrace sustainability as a core value to achieve long-term success. The integration of sustainable practices into business culture can lead to a range of benefits, including increased brand reputation, customer loyalty, and employee engagement. Marketing plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices and products. Sustainable marketing is the promotion of socially responsible products, services, and practices. Its goal is to promote a mission, not a product or service. Brands that are not rooted in sustainability can still apply its principles to their strategy. Incorporating sustainability into marketing strategies can help businesses differentiate themselves from competitors and appeal to a growing, socially conscious audience. Sustainable marketing campaigns can also help brands build trust with customers by demonstrating their commitment to environmental and social responsibility. What are your thoughts on the subject? Do you incorporate sustainable practices in your business? #sustainability #businessculture #marketingstrategy #longtermsuccess #brandreputation #customerloyalty #employeeengagement #sociallyconsciousaudience

I received a healthy dose of optimism at the Unreasonable Impact World Forum at The Royal Institution. This year I joined Unreasonable as a mentor and so it was inspiring to hear from some of the businesses that have been through the fellowship programme and the positive impacts they are already having. The event started with the great quote in my photo from Margaret Mead, anthropologist: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Unreasonable believes in the power of business and technology to drive lasting, scalable change. They handpick the world's most impactful growth-stage companies and invite them into the Unreasonable Fellowship. Then they give select investors, mentors, and partners the opportunity to create value in helping scale the efforts of these history-defining ventures. One of their five key themes is food, which is where I am involved. To date Unreasonable has supported 375 ventures, raised $14bn in finance and generated $10bn in revenue. But has plans to do much more, supported by Barclays, which has set a $1 trillion sustainable and transition finance target by 2030 to accelerate the shift to a low-carbon economy. The entrepreneur success stories of the future will be the stories of the entrepreneurs solving the climate and biodiversity crises - and based on the companies presenting at the forum, these stories are already being written. These include C16 Biosciences brewing sustainable alternatives to palm oil (estimated to alone be responsible for 2% of greenhouse gas emissions as well as significant biodiversity loss), CLUBZERØ with a returnable packaging solution to support zero waste, Cultivo unlocking investment in natural capital and NFW supporting the circular economy though alternatives to oil-based materials used in clothing and manufacturing. My takeaways from the event were that "being unreasonable" through thinking differently is vital in creating ideas, collaboration is essential to achieve success and that business and entrepreneurs have a critical role in shaping our future. Thanks to Daniel Epstein for leading Unreasonable and Andy Middleton and Corinne Gray for bringing me onboard. #unreasonableimpact #globalchange #sustainability #foodandbeverage #entrepreneurship #unreasonableventures

WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS AS A FORCE FOR GOOD? Here's a graphic from our book The Regenerative Enterprise on its evolution. The impulse to use business to make positive change has been around and evolving for centuries, and sustainability is not the end point either! Time for Regenerative Business? Thanks for posting Niels de Fraguier
NEW BOOK TO BE RELEASED | Author of The Regenerative Enterprise | Editor of the boardgame FUTUREs | Founder of Positive | Speaker, Ecopreneur and Ideator
In the course of history, moments of crisis have often been the crucible of transformation. Today, as we confront the existential challenges of our time, we stand at a crossroads of unprecedented opportunity. From the ashes of a broken system emerges the call for radical change. Just as the plague reshaped the social and economic landscape of fourteenth-century Europe, so too do we find ourselves on the brink of a new dawn. Business, once the harbinger of ecological harm, now stands poised at the threshold of redemption. The era of regenerative entrepreneurship dawns—a testament to our collective resolve to reimagine the role of business in a world in transformation. These pioneering companies, the vanguards of a new paradigm, wield business as a force for good. They eschew growth for growth's sake, embracing instead a holistic approach that honours the sanctity of nature and society. Together, they embark on a journey of transformation, forging alliances, and nurturing ecosystems. Together, they weave the tapestry of a brighter tomorrow—one where business thrives in harmony with the planet. Welcome to the dawn of regenerative enterprise—where possibility meets purpose, and where together, we redesign our collective future. #TheRegenerativeEnterprise #Sustainability #Business #PositiveChange

🌿🌍 Exciting news! Treeconomy is proud to be one of the founding members of the steering commitee of the newly launched Carbon Markets Innovation Forum (CMIF), operating under the strategic guidance of the Startup Coalition as the secretariat. This initiative is set to be a game-changer for startups in the carbon markets sector and their engagement with policy. The importance of high-quality, high-integrity carbon markets cannot be overstated. As the world strives for sustainability and net-zero goals, carbon markets play a pivotal role in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors and reducing operational footprints. Ensuring the effectiveness and credibility of these markets is key to avoiding greenwashing and maximising impact. We encourage all startups working in the UK carbon markets space to get involved and explore the potential of CMIF.
