Reflecting on SCFHS's Participation in #AMEE24 I’m excited to share insights from the recent #AMEE24 conference, where the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) showcased our initiatives among 4,000 delegates from over 90 countries. This vibrant gathering underscored the global challenges we face in health education, with common pain points emerging across the board. Proper Assessment Modalities: A critical need for effective evaluation of healthcare professionals. AI Development in Education and Assessment: Exploring how technology can enhance learning and evaluation processes. Seasonality in Education: Understanding how various factors impact educational outcomes. I am proud to report that SCFHS had a significant presence at the conference, including a dedicated booth that attracted interest from many international entities. Our unique approach—integrating all health specialties under one umbrella—captivated attendees. They expressed particular interest in our Saudi Board certification, Saudi Licensure Exams, and SCFHS Accreditation, and how these elements align with the professional competency framework. Our team not only engaged in fruitful discussions but also participated in several social dinners, further strengthening our global network. We were honored to receive testimonials from international guests who visited our booth, reflecting the positive impact of our work. Even though I couldn’t attend personally, I am incredibly proud of my team and the impactful representation of SCFHS at #AMEE24. This experience has opened up new avenues for collaboration and exchange of ideas in advancing health education. Let’s continue the conversation! What are your thoughts on the challenges we face in health education today?

NHS England’s Frontline Digitisation programme was introduced in 2021 to support healthcare organisations and patients to have access to digital health service services and the data they need to manage and improve health and wellbeing. Many ICSs have already begun to see benefits including freeing up staff time and encouraging collaborative working with partners. The roll out of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems has forced trusts and the wider system to consider bringing clinical and administrative services together, however, transformation like this comes at a cost, and many say they are still not yet ready. In the 'Frontline digitisation: creating the conditions for a digital NHS' report, which we produced with NHS Confederation, ICS leaders told us that workforce and training were significant barriers to providing and delivering a quality frontline digitalised service. To make this work in the long-term healthcare leaders need: ✅ Fewer core targets, with ICS given the autonomy to choose how to deliver them ✅ Flexibility to meet the demands and needs of their local population ✅ Quality training and support for staff ✅ More capital funding for digital infrastructure ✅ Longer-term, multi-year funding cycles Click the link in comments to read the report in full ⬇️ #DigitalHealthcare #FrontlineDigitisation #NHS

On a bit of a LinkedIn roll at the moment, but this article with NHS Confederation is something I'm really passionate about. There are massive savings for the NHS in consolidation its IT and Digital estate, particularly systemically. But it's not all straightforward. TLDR: IT is much easier than digital, and funnily enough I'd say consolidating EPRs is definitely one of the harder things to attempt. There are much easier candidates in commodity IT- networks, compute and devices. But the benefits of rationalisation isn't just financial, merging siloed teams enables much more flexible teams with expanded capacity and capabilities. There's not really many good reasons not to progress this agenda. Apart from local politics of course 😊
In partnership with NHS Confederation, we've been exploring the challenges and opportunities of frontline digitisation for NHS organisations. In this brand new article, Thomas Webb explores how the NHS could make significant productivity gains by standardising its IT processes. Thomas looks at opportunities for consolidation, managed convergence of systems and, most importantly, why people mustn't be forgotten in the process. IT is key for productivity gains but processes must be standardised first
