Did you know? Every 2 minutes, a woman succumbs to preventable causes linked to pregnancy and childbirth. The toll is alarmingly high, with about 287,000 women losing their lives during and following pregnancy and childbirth in 2020. 😢💔 75% of these maternal deaths are due to preventable complications such as severe bleeding and infections. The gap in skilled birth attendance is staggering—68% in low-income countries compared to 99% in high-income and upper-middle-income countries. At Global Health Action, we're on a mission to change these numbers by supporting pre and postnatal care for women and training traditional birth attendants in underserved communities globally. Join us as we create ripples that build waves of change for women everywhere. 🌍💪 #MaternalHealth #GlobalHealthAction #GHADidYouKnow

April 11-17 is recognized as National Black Maternal Health Week. Today, Care Ring (in partnership with Novant Health and Mecklenburg County) hosted a dynamic conference, emphasizing Black maternal health disparities and outlining ways to improve health outcomes. A common theme that resonated throughout was that "most pregnancy related deaths are preventable." This is why it was encouraged from various perspectives to: 💡amplify your voice and speak up 💡ask questions 💡listen with intention and compassion 💡share stories and experiences 💡understand what's needed 💡provide necessary support and resources 💡work together, centering who matters most -- mommy and baby #blackmaternalhealthweek #healthcare #access #resources Next Stage
