We exist to promote enriched lives, ensure sustainability and the empowerment of vulnerable communities
About us
The Lead Me Back Foundation is a registered Non-Governmental Organization under Zambia's Ministry of Community Development and Social Service. It was established in 2021 to contribute to realising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically 3 and 4: Good Health and Well-being and Quality Education, respectively. Under Quality Education we run a project called “Guardian for a Year” in five districts in Zambia. The project helps vulnerable children in rural and marginalized Zambian communities have access to quality education unhindered by providing them with school books, backpacks, shoes, stationery, and uniforms. In our years of operation, the organization has partnered with Individual Donors, Corporate Companies, and the Ministry of Education to implement this project. We have made over 100,000 donations in the form of different school essentials in 12 Zambian schools. In our pursuit of Good Health and Well-Being, we proudly spearhead Ubumi Care Clinics in rural regions, delivering top-tier healthcare to underserved communities. These clinics stand as beacons of support, bolstering the Zambian government's endeavours to ensure every individual has equitable access to high-quality medical services, right within their localities. All the marginalized communities we have worked with so far have been empowered with knowledge of non-communicable diseases and received quality health care near their homes, which has significantly helped reduce the morbidity and mortality of NCDs and promoted inclusive health. Our collaborative efforts with individual donors, corporate partners, and governmental bodies have enabled us to make a meaningful impact, touching the lives of countless children and families across the country. As we move forward, we remain committed to our mission of creating a healthier, more equitable society for all Zambians, one where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

FAQs: Where are the students being sponsored based? Currently, the program is running in a total of 15 schools in the Copperbelt, North Western, Northern, and Lusaka Province, in various towns. We have partnered with Government and community schools where we were more likely to find children in vulnerable situations. Our goal is to expand our reach to all provinces by 2030. The children involved in this project range from primary to secondary school and preferences of Guardians (in terms of grade and town of child) are noted. #leadmebackfoundation #qualityeducation #FAQs

Every child has a right to education; not just education but Quality Education. Receiving quality education entails having a school uniform, and sufficient stationery such as books, pens, pencils, school bags, and shoes constantly. With your help and donations, our children can experience quality education and be equipped for future opportunities. #leadmebackfoundation #qualityeducation

It's back-to-school season again! For many families in marginalised communities, sending their children to school is a struggle due to limited resources. Often, education falls low on priorities as families focus on immediate needs. Fortunately, through the Guardian for a Year project, our foundation has sponsored over 100 students, allowing them to attend school and build a brighter future. Together, we can help more children thrive and reach their full potential. #leadmebackfoundation #sdg4qualityeducation #guardianforayear

It’s another #throwbackthursday at the foundation and we’re reminiscing on the impact created at the Guardian for a year project in Ndola, Zambia. The activities resulted in over 80 pupils being sponsored with more than 2000 school essentials donated. We are continually grateful for every contribution that you have made. #leadmebackfoundation #throwbackthursday #guardianforayear #Ndoladonations #nonprofitorganisation

Quality Education is a universal transformative tool that continues to enhance every life it touches greatly. By exposing our societies to education and giving them the opportunity for quality education, we improve our people’s overall standard of living. “Education then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equaliser of the conditions of men, the balance-wheel of the social machinery.” Horace Mann. At the Lead Me Back Foundation, we strongly believe in SDG4, The Quality Education goal. Through donations and supporting young people through our Guardian for a year project, we allow tomorrow’s generation to improve their communities and the world. To create a future they hope for. #SDG4 #QualityEducation #ForABetterTomorrow #GuardianForAYear #LMBF

Access to quality healthcare remains a major challenge in rural areas, resulting in untreated illnesses and reduced quality of life. To address this, our organization has been organising Open-Air Clinics, offering essential services such as HIV/AIDS counselling and testing, cervical cancer screening, blood pressure and diabetes checks, and eye screenings. We ensure comprehensive care in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, USAID SAFE, Zambia Centre for Communication Programmes, and John Snow Inc. Through the Health Belief Model, we also educate communities on non-communicable diseases and the importance of medication compliance, promoting better health outcomes. #UbumiCareClinic #SDG3 #NCDs #USAID #wellness #GoodHealthAndWellbeing
