Meet up with OSCAR in Cologne 🥐☕ Two weeks ago, Rebecca, Sunita and Kaan met with OSCAR GmbH. OSCAR is a consultancy based in Cologne. More specifically, a consultancy for fresh graduates only. Right from the beginning, we recognized that we have a lot in common. Similar to us, they aim to grow professionally together while valuing a "we"-culture mindset. During breakfast, we had the chance to show them how we work at #tkMC - interesting discussions about the future of green steel included! Thank you, OSCAR GmbH for having us! How do you plan to start your career? 🚀 #TEAMtkMC #inhouseconsulting

Happy New Year All! To set the foundation of this year, its best to express gratitude of the big milestones hit last year. We onboarded 11 amazing coaches, delivered our first graduate engagement strategy and graduate program, held 2 coaching sessions and secured our first workshops for February 24. A dream come true! We also worked on our first blog.... Click the link (https://lnkd.in/gVZ_CaKY) to see our full article. in the meantime, here is a snippet "What’s in a Graduate Development Program? Graduate Development Programs typically involve an organisation introduction, access to a workplace buddy, opportunity for rotations around different business units, and internal/external workshop training sessions covering soft skills such as: *Self-awareness and emotional intelligence. *Communication and presentation skills. *Leadership and ethics. *Career planning and networking. *Business development strategies (start them bringing in business young!). But is this enough? Does this really help with creating technically confident and industry-proficient members of the workforce?" If you want to stay up-to-date with us, please follow our Page. 🌟 Day 4 is complete and that means, sadly, IEUK has to come to an end! 📊 The first task of the day was to complete our work sample for submission. The task for the work sample was to create a pitch for a new charity partnership for British Airways’ ‘BA Better World’ campaign, which aims to create a more sustainable future. To see my pitch, click on this link: https://lnkd.in/eFGEa-TV 🤝A massive thank you to Natasha Turpie who I paired up with and who delivered insightful feedback! 🎤After submissions, next up a keynote from Mel Richardson MBE (Nee Kose), Emerging Talent Manager at British Airways, who shared her top tips for the corporate world: 1. Work hard. 2. Take every opportunity. 3. Network. 4. Use every opportunity as a learning opportunity. 5. Be ambitious! 💬 James Uffindell, Bright Network’s CEO, finished off the day, sharing insights that really stuck with me and have encouraged me to stay resilient and confident throughout my job search: ‘There are going to be things that you can’t control, but you can control how you react’. He also offered additional job support through Bright Network, such as the Career Launchpad and Career Pathway Test. 📚 Overall, IEUK 2024 has been an incredible and worthwhile experience, and I have learned so much, including: - Vital skills employers in the business, operations, and marketing sector look for. - Organisation frameworks for time management and task prioritisation, such as the Gantt chart and Eisenhower Matrix. - The STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) approach, ideal for answering competency questions in interviews. - What to expect when starting a graduate role in companies such as Nestlé, Mondelez, Adobe, and AlphaSights. - The importance of first impressions and building a personal brand. - The difference between B2B and B2C sales and marketing roles. - How to conduct a pitch. 🙏 I would like to thank everyone at Bright Network for such an incredible experience, including Philip Yarrow and Rachel Delaney for being amazing hosts, and of course, James Uffindell and everyone working behind the scenes! #ieuk #ieuk2024 #networking #graduate

A Deep Dive with Dr. Alex Bennet: Unearthing the Potential of Tacit Knowledge In our latest Knowledge Management Global Network session of the "Leveraging the Value Creation of Tacit Knowledge" course, we were privileged to host Dr. Alex Bennet, a distinguished leader and authority on Tacit Knowledge (Alex & David Bennet). Our ongoing journey through this course reaffirms a key understanding: knowledge must not be #explicit to be valuable. Recognizing that #tacit knowledge can remain as such opens new pathways to harness its potential effectively. We discussed four transformative approaches to engaging with tacit knowledge: 1. #EmbeddingTacitKnowledge: We facilitate creating new patterns in our brains, allowing innate wisdom to guide our actions and decisions through repetitive practices and deep reflection. 2. #SurfacingTacitKnowledge: We leverage external triggers and self-driven collaboration to bring subconscious insights into our conscious thought processes. 3. #SharingTacitKnowledge: We embrace methodologies like apprenticeship and the artful use of allegories, following Nonaka's Socialization concept in the SECI model. 4. #InducingResonance: We inspire innovation by juxtaposing well-established but contrasting ideas, fostering a dynamic intellectual environment. The engagement of 75 knowledge enthusiasts in this course underscores a community eager to listen, learn, and apply new concepts to the domain of tacit knowledge. As we each leave with at least one new idea to refine our or our organizations' approach to tacit knowledge, it is clear that our collective understanding has evolved. #KnowledgeManagement #TacitKnowledge #DrAlexBennet #KMGN
