Helping school leaders & staff to improve behaviour, so that ALL of our pupils thrive | International Keynote Speaker, Trainer & Author | Online & in-person Behaviour CPD |School Improvement| Edu-business support
What are your thought gremlins stopping you doing? How's that helping the education system? * Today I spoke to three BRILLIANT Education Experts in their field who are BLOCKED from doing their work helping schools, leaders, staff and pupils. An Expert in Mental Health for schools An Expert in Meta-cognition An Expert in Positive Education We’re talking, ground-breaking-education-revolutionising-people who have the skills and YEARS of experience (not to mention degrees and Masters degrees falling out of them by the bucket loads) to really not just support schools, or improve one or two things here and there - but who could be part of improving education worldwide for the better. But they are blocked, because building an Edu-business, working with schools can be hard. Because things like this get in the way: - What if it's not the right price? - What if someone thinks I'm not working with integrity? - What if I can't pay my bills? - What if by working on my thing, I miss other work that could pay me (less) tomorrow? - What if someone gives me bad feedback? - What if I'm too expensive? - What if I'm an imposter? - What if I'm just rubbish at business? These are mindset/perspective/gremlin blocks that get in the way. And the trouble is, because they're 'just in our head' we often think that we can 'should' our way around them - 'I should just get on with it' 'I should just selling my course' 'I should just lead that training' 'I should just speak to that school' This CAN work...a little bit, but it's not sustainable (and it can hurt!) If you really want to shift the gremlins, you have to get to the root of what's causing it! And there are tools, strategies, support, commuities who can help you do this. And why wouldn't you? Some of the visions for education that I've had the honour of being shared with me today are TOO important to not do. What are your gremlins stoppng you doing? How's that helping the education system? * Photo: Yesterday on a walk with Bodka, I found this beach hut with this circle of people painted on. Loved it - as people with integrity, strong community values and huge vision for education work together, we get to support one another. *** Hi, I'm Adele I help school leaders & staff to improve behaviour, so that ALL of our pupils thrive, and help others who wish to do so. ***I currently have 3 spaces*** available to support people at the start of your edu-business. Drop me a DM Adele 💥

❤️ Helping kids doesn’t have to be hard 🏆 It can be rewarding 😀 See our testimonials … We’re Amy Moser, MSc, CPQC and Javier Orti, the founders of the Helping Kids Academy, where we train people to become certified life coaches for children and teenagers. You'll see our testimonials from students in our video! And after helping thousands of kids, we’ve discovered that they need our help NOW more than ever. We’re sure, you’ve also noticed that (since the pandemic), more and more children have been struggling… (with anxiety, low confidence & motivation, phone addiction, and similar issues…) And yes, you are correct - according to statistics, the number of kids looking for help has almost doubled in the last 3 years. That’s WHY we’ve decided to share our knowledge in the HelpingKids Academy… … which is FINALLY open to accept new students again! You too can get the chance to learn EVERYTHING you need to become an expert who knows exactly how to help kids… … and even turn this knowledge into a fulfilling career - just like we did : ) BUT! This opportunity is time-sensitive! Because we want to ensure the highest quality of the program and plenty of individual attention, we had to limit the number of participants. And last time we opened the doors, the available seats were gone in a matter of days. So, if you feel a desire to help kids in a similar way, click the link below now, learn everything about the program, and reserve your spot in the Academy… https://lnkd.in/eNvY8fHH See you there! THRIVING STRATEGY TWO: BOUNDARIES. Ignite Afterschool just launched Be It, an expansion pack for Believe It. Build It., Minnesota's Guide to Effective Afterschool Practices. Be It includes six thriving strategies that elevate your youth work to new heights. Stay tuned for the next Thriving Strategy! WHAT IT MEANS: Your relationship with young people is both authentic and professional, with appropriate limits on your role in a young person’s life. You stay within healthy and respectful boundaries, and recognize there is a power imbalance because of your role as a youth worker. WHY IT MATTERS: Youth workers tend to have a great deal of passion for helping young people and compassion for the challenges they face. This emotional connection can serve as a powerful spark for fostering relationships. (In fact, building positive, trusting relationships with young people is an afterschool effective practice!) But we’re still professionals, so we must maintain professional boundaries that protect youths’ physical and psychological safety. Where exactly that line is drawn often varies from one situation to the next, so it’s important to have regular reflections and discussions with your supervisor and coworkers. Then, turn those conversations into opportunities to continuously clarify policies that identify appropriate boundaries. MANAGER ACTION ITEM: Do your organization’s policies and training address appropriate boundaries? Do This: Review your policies with staff. Discuss various scenarios and identify any questions about appropriate boundaries that are not addressed in your current policies. See Building Block 6 on page 27 for inspiration. What are the youth of today worth? $00.25? $2.50? $25? $250.00? $2,500.00, $250,000.00? LIFEBOAT SERVICES aims to enhance the learning of the youth through integrating an innovative mentoring-based platform as the base of our operation. The mentor program is the flagship of LIFEBOAT SERVICES. This program involves youth mentoring which is a process of matching mentors with young people who need or want a caring, responsible adult in their lives. Mentoring has been shown to improve self-esteem, academic achievement, and peer relationships and reduce drug use, aggression, depressive symptoms, and delinquent acts. Mentors are positive role models who inspire, encourage and guide young people to achieve their potential. This is facilitated by Dr. Spann as the mentors assist with the facilitation within age-specific groups. Our mission is to foster both holistic and progressive learning behaviors among youth, ages 9-16, by empowering them with the skills and mindset that are essential for their success within today's rapidly changing world. This will empower the students to identify, grasp, demonstrate and then develop accountability in their decisions by identifying and developing, • Healthy, positive self-development. • Understanding dysfunctional based thinking such as the disease of addiction. • Improve health through education designed to empower participants to confront their existing perceptions and knowledge about alternatives for healthy eating to improve/maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is in line with the vision of “to create healthy communities where children and youth feel safe to trust.” Currently, LIFEBOAT SERVICES has recruited 20 young people. LBS will open its doors in the fall of 2024. If you want to help out LIFEBOAT SERVICES's mentoring program, reply to this post or send a request to lifeboat61@gmail.com.

I love this article. It shows the value and importance of social-emotional skills that are necessary for children, but don't always receive. As a therapist and life coach, I often see what happens when children don't receive the skills they need. Book your consultation today at https://lnkd.in/gqpZbpS5
