Join us in celebrating #EarthDay and the fourth anniversary our #ItsInOurHands campaign! Despite starting as a platform that communicated the benefits of wipes made with VEOCEL™ fibers, it has now evolved into a larger movement that raises consumer awareness about the importance of combatting plastic pollution, the benefits of embracing cellulosic fibers in personal and hygiene care to help the environment and educating people on how to make environmentally conscious choices in their daily lives.
A collaborative effort between VEOCEL™, value chain partners, NGOs, and associated brands, the #ItsInOurHands campaign has successfully reached and influenced over 16 million people through electronic publications, including 517 posts over 4 years on our Instagram and Facebook pages!
A key collaboration in the #ItsInOurHands initiative was launched in 2022 with Science Pool VIF. By launching a program in Austrian and German schools, we were able to equip hundreds of students with information to help them make responsible choices when selecting daily care products by educating them on the biodegradable properties of nonwoven materials made from cellulosic VEOCEL™ fibers through a series of hands-on experiments.
Another partnership within the #ItsInOurHands initiative is the work we do with ClimatePartner, a leading solution provider for corporate climate action, to empower brands to measure, reduce, and take actions to mitigate their carbon impact. The partnership has helped VEOCEL™ further reduce its fiber footprint and offset any as-yet unavoidable emissions via projects in Brazil, India, China, and a variety of other countries, all of which are aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, as we collectively work towards a greener future.
