Smooth onboarding isn't just a goal - it's an investment in your hiring success. Preparing new hires for their first few days sets the tone for their journey at the company, impacting their desire to stay and be happy with their decision. Set them up for success from day one. This starts with: 🔹 Helping them fill out new hire paperwork 🔹 Introducing them to the team 🔹 Visiting some job sites 🔹 Getting issued a company truck 🔹 Becoming familiar with the software that's used 🔹 Providing a tour of the office It's easy to overlook some of these little things, but they make a huge difference in employee satisfaction and retention. #construction #onboarding #hiring #groundupconstructionrecruiting

With one in seven new hires leaving their job within the probation period and the cost to hire sitting at around $20,000 in Australia & NZ it is so important to get the onboarding experience right. These are the things I loved about my onboarding experience at Samuels Donegan. 💕 Preboarding: Before my first day I had already received my onboarding schedule for the first two weeks and my work-from-home set-up was delivered. 💕Early team connection: I had the chance to meet everyone before my official start date. 💕 Warm welcome: I received all the necessary supplies on my first day including stationary, my laptop, keys, and a thoughtful gift. 💕 Structured start: My schedule was organised for the first two weeks, giving me clear direction on what I needed to achieve. 💕 Learning opportunities: I had many opportunities to shadow my colleagues, work collaboratively and autonomously and have regular check-ins. 💕Seamless setup: I was given the time and resources to set myself up online e.g. logging into our systems, creating my email signature, taking my new headshot and creating email templates. 💕 Genuine care: I completed a team directory Q&A which allowed me to communicate important information to the team e.g. how I like to receive feedback, my thinking processes, and preferred communication channels. Such a refreshing approach to understanding your team and how we all work. On the flip side, these are the things I've heard about others' onboarding experiences. 🙅♀️ They arrive for their first day and their team is working from home. 🙅♀️ They lack clear guidance on tasks or goals to accomplish. 🙅♀️ They aren't given a laptop, log in details or keys. Would love to hear your thoughts on what makes a great onboarding experience. #onboarding #HR #recruitment

If you have new employees joining your team in the new year, it isn’t just the first day or even the first week that is fundamental in ensuring your new hire is settled into their new role and feels welcome. As an employer, you want to make certain that you have processes in place for the first three months and beyond. My top tips for great onboarding include: • Ensure you have a process in place – a clear process will mean your new hire is aligned and clear on what their role entails, no matter the seniority or experience level. • Keep in regular communication with your new hire – communication is so important in the workplace right now. Ensuring you have the opportunity for two-way feedback can be extremely beneficial for both parties and a great way to ensure future success. • Provide training - no matter how experienced your new hire is, they will need sufficient training. This will encompass many factors, typically around systems, processes, and the job itself. Failure to provide adequate training can lead to broken processes, confusion, and loss of engagement. • Set clear objectives – Once your new hire has had the right training, from here you can agree on actionable and measurable objectives that will allow them to feel motivated and engaged. It can also help new hires to understand how important their role is in the business. • Introduce them to the team – this might be an obvious one but if you want your new hire to stay with you for the long run, you need to ensure they understand, are bought into, and align with what your business stands for and the people that encompass it. Integrating new hires into the workplace from the get-go will ensure they feel welcome and part of the team. Onboarding new employees is always worth the time and investment to make sure that they are with your business for the long run. Ensure you are putting in the effort to make them feel welcome and valued. #newhiresuccess #onboardingsuccess #newyearhires

Before a new hire starts, prove that you really are different with a “Memorable Welcoming Package.” Article Descriptors| Preboarding/Welcoming New-Hires – Its Benefits – 4 Min. Read What Is A “Memorable Welcoming Package”? A “Memorable Welcoming Package” (a.k.a. MWP) is a physical package that is highly memorable because it surprises soon-to-be hires at home. The package contains all of the information and tools that a new hire will need to get started. This memorable welcoming package is sent to new hires in professional jobs at least a week before their starting date. The design of a welcome package that would startle a new hire was pioneered years ago at Agilent Technologies, but the concept still works today. #humanresources #HR #talentmanagement #talentacquisition #recruiting

Any experienced HR professional will know not to count their chickens during the onboarding process. A new starter might have accepted your job offer, but that doesn’t mean they won’t accept offers from elsewhere. You can fix that with an onboarding process with real sticking power. That’s what we’ve delivered with our new AndMe onboarding tool. Here’s how it works. #Onboarding #RecruitmentMarketing #AndMe
