CIBUS International Food Exhibition 2024 Definitely a tasty experience! 🍝 A few considerations: - the Italian culinary culture is wide and deep, allowing #innovation and trade #expansion. I visited the Innovation Corner with many interesting ideas regarding food and packaging. Also, I could see visitors and buyers from Asia, different parts of Europe, and the US. - #ImageMatters: there are many products of the same category (pasta, dairy products, deli, etc.) and it is extremely important to stand out. Sight first, especially in a fair: if the booth or the product is not eye-catchy visitors might not stop. I could observe that. Totally. - #Experience: visitors appreciated the booth with interaction, being a food tasting, a show cooking, or some cool gadgets. This is another way to be different creating a memory in the clients'mind. They'll remember it, choosing you from a supermarket's shelf. Happy about my visit at Cibus, and looking forward to next year! 😍 #food #experience #innovation

https://lnkd.in/eWyBB52b The decline in food and beverage innovation is a worrying trend that demands immediate action from F&B companies. As private label offerings become more competitive, it’s crucial for branded products to enhance their product development strategies. Although we know that the success rates for new products are low, companies can improve their chances by implementing well-thought-out product development processes and hiring experts to support their teams. Maintaining a balance between core product profitability and investing in innovation is essential for long-term growth and competitiveness in the market.

Celebrating our second full year in business! 🎉 DZJING, born in 2021 during the pandemic, has turned a dream into reality. Passionate about natural flavours, deeply connected with the magical ginger, our journey has so far been incredible. In 2022, we rode the wave of enthusiasm with organic growth, while in 2023, we achieved 60% growth, expanding quality points of sale and doubling horeca clients. With almost 100% horeca client retention, we sold DZJING for over 250,000 drinks in 2023, relying on our products to speak for themselves. And they did. A highlight: IWSC 2023 Gold Award & Overall winner in Alcohol-free for DZJING.Bergamot. DZJING.Classic remains our best-seller, while DZJING.Bergamot gains traction in culinary restaurants. The DZJING.Intense completes the range with its spicy ginger kick, symbolizing our intense journey. Challenges? Plenty. Saturation of ginger products in point of sales is definitely one of them. Acquisition in horeca is … hard work. Especially in The Netherlands where lack of distribution is the obstacle. Our strategy: Expand the network. And persevere. And have fun while doing so. What's next in 2024? DZJING continues to invest in a fair product with adoption of more fair trade ingredients. We professionalize operations, through quality partners, ensuring we can focus on telling our story. Sales started strong, with a promising deal secured with a major corporate caterer. Start small, think big, scale fast? Perhaps it’s time to scale? Thanks for being part of our story! 🌱 #DZJING #Growth #FairTrade #PassionateAboutFlavours #ginger #gifts #alcoholfree #organic

Foodservice Marketing Analyst @ McCain | Passionate about Marketing, Insights, and Business Analytics | Food Inspired | Grocery Retail Experienced | Customer Focused
🎉 Reflections on my first business summit Last week, I attended my first #Technomic #FoodservicePlanningProgram Summer Summit in Chicago. The event provided insights into updates, key topics, and challenges facing the Foodservice Industry. Throughout the three-day event, I had the opportunity to hear from Technomic’s panel of economists, innovators, researchers, culinary experts, and other industry professionals. 🍟 As I work to help McCain Foods continue to provide best-in-class products and services, this conference offered necessary insights into understanding today’s consumers and effectively collaborating with operators. 💡 Notable takeaways for me included: 📈 Navigating High Inflation and Operational Costs: • Successful operators are driving traffic through strategies beyond discounting. 🍔 The Significance of Limited-Time Offers (LTOs) for Menu Success: • Operators are seeking supplier support for menu innovations, and there are multiple ways manufacturers can contribute. 🤝 Understanding Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs): • GPOs are about more than price savings; Supporting and understanding their needs can help suppliers identify key opportunities. Overall, the event was an exciting opportunity to gain some new POVs into the foodservice industry. 🍕And of course, I made sure to try the Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Here's a fun photo of me and my teammates Daniella Tauskela Jodi Otzko Kristy (Guoyu) Wang Shalini Suri Melanie Fernandes also Franci (Maurici) Lencioni

The food and beverage industry has experienced a decline in #innovation of nearly 50% since 2007. According to Mintel, only 26% of new products introduced in early 2024 are considered truly innovative, compared to 50% in 2007. This decline is attributed to challenges in the supply chain, low-profit margins, and difficulties controlling product temperatures. While innovation in consumer packaged goods (#CPG) has faced challenges overall, the food and beverage sector has been particularly affected, leading to an increasing consumer preference for #privatelabel products. Companies such as McCormick & Co. and Conagra Brands emphasize the importance of innovation for growth. However, the high failure rate of new products and the desire to maintain existing brands have discouraged significant #investment in innovation, potentially impacting long-term profitability and market position.
