Out of the suggested 350 calderas that are thought to have formed the Sierra Madre Occidental, only 24 have been identified and recorded. These calderas average around 30 km in diameter. However, data from space imagery, digital elevation models, drainage networks, and spectral indices in the Urique and Valle de Zaragoza mining districts indicate the presence of at least one significant caldera, not thoroughly studied, which appears to have been crucial in the formation of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the mineralization of these regions. #caldera #sierra #Urique #Zaragoza #mineralization #strategic #consultants

PDH: 1.00 Located off the southeast coast of Queensland, Australia, North Stradbroke Island is the World’s second largest sand island (~27,500 ha) and the setting for wide-spread mining activity over much of the last half century due to its richness in silica and heavy mineral ores (e.g., ilmenite, rutile, and zircon). This study depicts broad-scale revegetation patterns following sand mining based on an ecological timeline spanning 4–20 years post-rehabilitation. Findings (per Audet et al. 2013) are evaluated in the context of soil disturbance and vegetation life-history strategies that, together, appear to be driving alternate ecological outcomes. History of the Croesus Mine at Munro-Croesus Project: Delve into the historical significance of the Croesus Mine, a cornerstone of Onyx Gold's Munro-Croesus Project. This mine, steeped in a rich history of gold production, represents a promising indication for exploration initiatives. Established in 1914, the Croesus Mine has remained a focal point of Ontario's gold mining landscape. Its reputation for bonanza-grade gold production is substantiated by tangible artifacts, such as the five Croesus mine gold specimens housed in the esteemed Royal Ontario Museum. These specimens collectively weigh 85 pounds and contain 480.7 ounces of gold, boasting an impressive yield of 11,310 ounces gold per short ton. Adjacent to the Munro-Croesus property, significant multi-million ounce bulk tonnage gold deposits further underscore the region's geological wealth. Noteworthy projects include Fenn-Gib and Tower Gold, alongside the operational Black Fox underground gold mine. Historically, between 1915 and 1936, the Croesus Mine yielded 14,859 ounces of gold from 5,333 short tons, boasting an average grade of 2.78 ounces per ton gold. This production figure excludes ore directly shipped to the Royal Canadian Mint, emphasizing the mine's substantial contributions to the gold supply chain. A 140 kg, Mineralized Boulder Found near Hearst, Ontario. In 2021, Noble launched an exploration program to in an effort to identify the source of the boulder. Basal till samples collected from two fences of hand auger holes, located about 100 m and 1 km north of the boulder, produced 35 gold grains. These gold grains define a southeast-northwest trending dispersion train that indicate they were transported southeast by a glacial transport from a source area located to the northwest. The dispersion train begins near a northeast trending magnetic anomaly. The gold grains are predominantly reshaped but also include modified and pristine , supporting evidence of a local source. The approximate location of the mineralized, Cousineau Boulder appears to coincide with a slight bullseye high at the southeast end of one of the northwest striking cross dike like features. Gusano texture. We see different sizes of patches and all these structures or parts are actually composed of quartz, pyrophyllite, and a large amount of zunyite. This type of mining is taking place each year at the same place during the dry season as local people take advantange of the fact that, as the water level in the stream is low, it is possible to access to the gem rich gravels at the bottom of the stream where sapphires were trapped. This is a rare example of a kind of sustainable gem mining as the same area can be mined again and again each year during the dry season as during each wet season the pits will be refilled and sapphires will be trapped again… Most of the miners working these streams are local farmers who see gem mining as a way to get an additional income while they are not busy with their nearby farms. This plan will give you an idea of the density of mineral exploration in the Matlock to Matlock Bath area, it covers an area approximately two-miles north-south and one-mile east-west. Both the river Derwent and the A6 road running along the steep-sided valley bottom. The map does not show the literally thousands of shafts found on Masson Moor, nor does it show all of the underground workings and smaller quarries. The commercially exploited minerals in the area were mainly galena and fluorspar, with limestone being quarried. Mining ceased in the area in the 1960s along with most of the quarries on this map by the 1990s - the exceptions being Slinter's Quarry and the recently re-opened Ball Eye Quarry. Just off the map are the operating quarries of LONGCLIFFE QUARRIES LIMITED (Brassington Moor and Ryder Point) and Tarmac's Dene Quarry.
