🌍✊🏾Celebrating Black History Month and Sustainable Travel! ✊🏾🌍 February marks the celebration of Black History Month, a time to honor the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It's a moment to reflect on the ongoing struggle for racial justice and equality. One important aspect of Black history is the legacy of "The Green Book." During segregation in the United States, this guidebook was a vital resource for Black travelers, providing information on safe places to stay, dine, and visit. It was a beacon of hope and safety in a time of systemic racism and discrimination. Today, we recognize the significance of The Green Book in the context of the travel and tourism industry. Though Jim Crow laws are gone, systemic racism persists in travel. Microaggressions, limited representation, and unequal access to safe spaces remain. As a sustainable and responsible travel educator, we advocate for social justice and anti-oppression in every facet of travel. A modern-day counterpart to The Green Book is the ABC Travel Greenbook app, created by Martinique Lewis and the Black Travel Alliance. This innovative tool helps Black travelers find safe and welcoming destinations, accommodations, and businesses worldwide, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in travel. This Black History Month, let's celebrate the resilience and ingenuity of Black travelers past and present, and continue our commitment to sustainable and responsible travel through a lens of social justice and anti-oppression. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable world for all travelers. #BeARiseTraveler #RiseTravelInstitute #DiversityEquityInclusion #BlackHistoryMonth #Antioppression #ResponsibleTravel #ImpactTravel #SustainableTravel #EthicalTravel

Today we honor and celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Join me in honoring and celebrating the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Indigenous Peoples’ Day was first instituted in Berkeley, California, in 1992, to coincide with the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Columbus in the Americas. It serves as a day to recognize and respect the resilience and diversity of Indigenous communities. Fun Fact: Did you know that there are over 476 million Indigenous people living in 90 countries across the world? They speak an estimated 7,000 languages and have unique cultural practices that have been passed down through generations. Here are 5 ways to honor the day: 1. Learn about the land you occupy. 2. Listen, follow and support Indigenous voices. 3. See Native American movies and read literature published by Indigenous authors. 4. Patronize Native American and Indigenous brands and businesses. 5. Embrace learning the true history of Indigenous communities. Share your learning with friends, family, and colleagues.

Strategist: Solving for Mindfulness Burnout Training for January 2025 Ushering Digital Transformation Leaders, Risk Mgmt, Appsec, AI, CISO Advisory, Security Testing, Sales Leadership, Community Builder, Storytelling
We have thousands of women building up in the Cybersecurity pipelines, and we want those flood gates to open with Employers that will take them the rest of the way! Don't think about it. JUST DO IT! BE THE FIRST TO TAKE BOLD PLUNGES IN THE NAME OF YOUR TEAM! Women: Release your inhibitions! Let me see your excitement, for what's in front of you. A former Sales Manager in my past, just got a job at Crowdstrike She's now releasing her inhibitions, empowered. I feel like I'm about to jump out of my skin, bolder, and badder, more helpful to the world, when Employers receive women, instead of put hurdles in front of them. What Bright Lights can I put on the next bridge, to make life just a little more brighter for the world? When AI released, I leaped a second time. A company asked me to be open, be coachable into a new system. Illana Golan has been retreating with Richard Branson. How facinating that would be for me to tap some special people. I'm holding my feet to the fire, tired on my own frustrations with myself. I can drive like a machine, and then I can rest, at times. When my head spins, I have to use the ear seeds, massage and a hot tub to balance myself. I have a different process for working the mind, body and breathe. Truth is, your thoughts matter! In Sales, my Partners are an extension of me. Sometimes we might compete, but not if we're working it right, in good communication, and with a spirit that is good for the end users. We balance, support, and act as ONE TEAM! New learnings: a "one call close". You've never heard of it, I know. Me either. Not in Enterprise, I don't think, but I'm being open minded. Did you see that ZOOM took my advice on IVR? Its a new cloud offerring. Smartest move EVER! Its now REALTIME AI TRANSACTIONS EVERYWHERE. Yesterday, I had a first job interview in years. I always keep an open mind. The first question was self-sabatogging from a Hiring Mgr. It was, "Do you have a book of business?" Its a BIASED question toward having relationships with certain companies of which he could call out the names, specifically. You CAN'T do that anymore! My response was, "You're not giving me an opportunity to present the best of myself". He was set aback, and proceeded with the second question. It became a 30 min interview. I give him credit for his bravery to see a women. He's now someone in my fold to call on, for another reason in my Communities. I never throw opportunities away. I'll bring him value, and he will bring me value one day. This is a sales lesson, if you can't quite recognize it.

Today is February 1st which signifies the kickoff of 2024 #blackhistorymonth Every Black History Month, we celebrate a legacy of #resilience and #achievement while emphasizing the theme of #blackexcellence and our #collectivefuture. A time for reflection and authentic commitment. It's a time to honor #trailblazers who've shattered barriers, from activists and artists to scientists and leaders. Reflecting on the rich tapestry of accomplishments, we draw inspiration from the triumphs of the past to shape a more #inclusive and #equitable future. #blackexcellence is not just a historical narrative but a living, evolving force, driving progress in every field. This month serves as a reminder to #acknowledge and #amplify the contributions of Black individuals whose stories are often overlooked. By recognizing these achievements, we #propel ourselves towards a future where diversity, multiculturalism and excellence go hand in hand. this month and onwards is an opportunity for #unity, #reconciliation, and a #commitment to dismantling systemic inequalities, fostering a world where everyone can achieve their full potential, regardless of their background.
