🚨 "We Can't Ignore This Any Longer!" Kevin Metcalf Speaks Out on Missing Kids Crisis 🚨 Kevin Metcalf, a prominent advocate in the fight against child abduction, brings to light a troubling trend: the alarming rate at which our communities overlook missing children cases. Despite stark statistics, there is a silent crisis happening right under our noses. 📊 The Ignored Metrics: Kevin points out that we measure what we value, which should be our children and families. 🌐 Community Apathy: According to Metcalf, one major hurdle is community apathy—people believe it can't happen to them, and as a result, they pay less attention to alerts and information about missing children in their area. 🛑 Call to Action: It's time to change how we handle these cases. Kevin Metcalf urges everyone to start taking every missing child alert seriously. "If it was your child, wouldn't you want the whole world to stop and look?" he challenges. 🔗 Stay Alert, Stay Informed: Kevin encourages everyone to actively participate in community watch programs, educate themselves about the signs of child abduction, and spread awareness. 💬 Let's Amplify the Message: Share this post to remind others that missing children are not just statistics—they are real crises affecting real families. Our very own Leslie G. sheds light on the pressing issue of child hunger in NYC in a recent op-ed featured in amNewYork. As #NYC schools switch to summer break, many kids experience reduced access to nutritious meals, leaving families to face the challenge of providing additional meals for their children who heavily rely on free school meals. In a city where 23.5% of children live in food-insecure households—equating to over 416,000 kids struggling to access sufficient nutrition—support from food banks, summer programs, and soup kitchens becomes crucial. Despite the availability of resources, many eligible children miss out due to a lack of awareness or accessibility. It's imperative to enhance access to food assistance programs and resources, like those offered by Food Bank in partnership with community allies. This winter, around nine children in every classroom, could be left cold, hungry, and worried about the future. These are the children who will struggle to keep warm or have hot meals, and who will miss out on opportunities that so many of us take for granted. We’re supporting thousands of families who are struggling with basic needs like heating, food, and electricity. Our mission is to make sure children feel safer, healthier, and more hopeful about the future. This holiday season, let’s unite as a community and make a real difference: £18 can buy a child new warm bedding.🎄 £30 can provide a child with a winter coat.🧥 £52 can keep a home heated and bright over Christmas.💡 Together, we can help create a brighter, warmer future for the next generation. #EndChildPoverty
