Here’s my morning routine: 5AM — Wake up and read 6AM — Gym time 7AM — Refresh with tea 8AM — Plan the day 8:30 — Start writing 9AM — Post scheduling 10AM — Meditate 11AM — Client meeting 12PM — Healthy lunch break And that’s how I established my perfect morning routine. ---------------- But what if I told you that’s a load of BS! It’s all a fairytale. Here’s my reality: My day starts at around 6:30, maybe 7. Between wake-up time and 8:45 — It’s chaos. 😂 Here's an idea of how it looks: → Waking two sleepyheads. → Preparing breakfast. → Packing lunches. → Helping them get dressed. → The occasional clothing dispute. → School drop-off by 8:45. And guess what? After today’s drop-off, I took a nap. Why? Because I deserve it. So here’s my nugget of wisdom: Take everything you see on the socials with a grain of salt. Do what works for you. Life isn’t a race; it’s a unique journey. Only a race if we compete with ourselves. With that, I wish you a lovely day. Remember to stay real.  Be YOU and people will love you for it. This month is jam-packed with three exciting trips, each with its unique purpose: 1️⃣ A fun-filled girls' weekend away to celebrate my birthday!  2️⃣ Off to the GroYourBiz LTD conference for some serious empowerment with fellow badass women! 3️⃣ And, of course, an international work trip to boost a small business's productivity. If I could sum up my feelings, it would be a mix of excitement, nerves, and a dash of chaos! Here's a peek into the whirlwind of thoughts swirling in my head: ❌ How will I juggle work amidst all the planned activities? ❌ Am I being fair to my husband? ❌ I’ll barely see my stepsons all month.  ❌ Finding time for workouts seems like a challenge. ❌ Oh, the dreaded task of packing for three completely different occasions! I HATE packing!  ❌ And the ultimate question: Will my fur baby Paco have a new favorite while I'm away? But, I always believe in having a choice: I could let stress take over and feel paralyzed by the chaos, or I could step back, get proactive, and plan to reduce my stress levels. So, here's the game plan: ✅ Prioritize upcoming work and set realistic deadlines. ✅ Communicate and plan with my husband to ensure we're aligned. ✅ Schedule quality time together with a dedicated "we" day. ✅ Communicate the importance of my trips with my stepsons. ✅ Make sure to prioritize workouts and find accommodations with gym facilities. ✅ Minimize packing stress by making detailed lists. ✅ And of course, shower Paco with all the love and treats before I leave! Whether it's a work goal or a fun family outing, having something to strive for can keep you motivated. 3. Schedule Ahead: Take some time to plan out your weeks in advance. Block off certain days or hours for important tasks, and make sure to prioritize family time as well. This way, you can avoid feeling overwhelmed and have more control over your schedule. 4. Keep Dinners Simple: Don't stress yourself out trying to come up with elaborate meals. Stick to simple and delicious options, such as one-pot dishes or quick and easy recipes. Your family will appreciate a delicious dinner without all the extra effort. 5. Make Time for Fun: Don't forget to prioritize some fun and relaxation in your schedule! Whether it's a day at the park with the kids or a night out with friends, make time for activities that bring you joy and help you recharge. IT’S FIT FEBRUARY!! The Steps Fit February initiative is a fun event meant to get clients, their families and staff to have fun and be more fit during a month that can be especially hard to be healthy. This can mean many different things for different people! Here are ways your family can be fit: Go for a family walk Try a new food Park further away from the store to get in extra steps Stand at your desk at work instead of sitting Go to sleep earlier than usual Brush your teeth for extra time Forgo seconds of your favorite dinner Have a family dance party (or a car dance party - only one handed for the driver!) Eat fruit for dessert instead of your usual We are a competitive group here and each team will want to win. Each client and their families will be on a different Steps team.  We will help you come up with behavioral goals to help learn daily living skills. Tell us about how you are being fit! We're founders, of course the concept of "weekends" doesn't apply to us! We're founders of course we don't have fixed "working hours" If you're a startup founder and have spent this entire week hustling, it's important to realise the importance of taking some time off in order to come back with a boost of productivity. This weekend indulge in some of these few ways to unwind: 📖 Read a book, not for motivation , but purely for entertainment 📺 Indulge in your favourite show 🍛Make yourself a home-cooked meal 🧘🏻♂️Try out stress-releasing activities like gardening, meditation and stretching 🏃🏻Go out for a run 🎤Attend a comedy show, dance workshop or open mic And not just on weekends, try to spare at least a few minutes daily to indulge in a small self-care practice - my go to habit is listening to music 🎶 What do you think? If we wait until we feel like it, we’ll never do it! It's week 2 of Tipton's Tuesday Takeover and have got a great tip to share with you ... Have you ever noticed that the less you do the worse you feel, and the worse you feel the less you do? Hannah Tipton, a volunteer for Acacia shares how you can break this cycle! 🔄 👉 Taking Charge: Our behaviour can have a huge impact on how we feel and it’s important to recognise what behaviours we have stopped doing that might be affecting us since becoming a parent. For example, our routine, taking care of ourselves, hobbies, meeting friends and ‘me time’. It can be really daunting to start to build things back into our week that we used to enjoy. Does it seem like it should be easy but something always gets in the way? 💡 Small Steps, Big Changes: We have found that if you take things step by step it is possible. First, see if you can write down one thing that you used to do that brings you joy or makes you feel good. It could be; having a bath, reading a book or spending time with friends and family. Next, make a plan to build this into your routine. Is there someone else to look after the little one? When are your friends available? . 🔍 Self-Reflection: Ask yourself: “Is this plan realistic?” “Aiming at just one thing at a time?” “Achievable?” 👣 One Step at a Time: Step by step you can slowly start to add more things into your routine that makes you feel good. Here's to raising a glass filled with water or tang maybe! because, I don't drink. I don't smoke. and now, most of you might think of me as boring or somebody who doesn't know how to enjoy weekends. It's easy to assume that everybody would succumb to these allures as if it's a foregone conclusion and those who don't, 'dont know how to enjoy life'. and you're no exception if you think so. When I tell anybody that I don't drink and smoke, it feels like I'm swimming against the current. I mean, sure, we've all seen those movies where the 'cool' kids are puffing away and chugging drinks like there's no tomorrow. But let's be real, that's just Hollywood trying to sell us a fantasy. In the real world, smoking can mess up your lungs and drinking beyond moderation can mess up, well, pretty much everything. I was told countless times both when I got into college and corporate that I'll start stuff after I get in there, that's how you do networking in after parties, right? I get it, peer pressure is real. We all want to fit in and be seen as cool, and you gotta light up or throw back shots for that!? But it's high time we accept and respect diverse beverage choices and not think of people as boring or uncool if they don't drink or smoke because fun is not just waking up with pounding headache or coughing up a lung, it's epic adventures with friends, vibing to sick beats, exploring new places, pursuing passions and whatnot, it has a different definition for everyone. I don't need any external substance to get high! We must not let others control our definition of enjoyment, also, we must respect others definition of enjoyment as well.
