As part of the America the Beautiful initiative, the Biden-Harris administration has launched Conservation.gov, a new website that helps connect people with information, tools, resources, and opportunities to support land and water conservation projects in communities across the country. The website is a public information hub for staying updated on conservation efforts across the country, finding places to recreate outdoors or to volunteer on public lands, and applying for financial assistance in support of conservation projects. With more than 41 million acres already conserved, President Biden is on track to conserve more lands and waters than any president in history. In addition, through the President’s Investing in America agenda, the Biden-Harris Administration invested more in conservation and restoration in the first two years of the administration than in any other. #conservation #ecosystemrestoration

Oregon’s sagebrush steppe is at a crossroads. The Lakeview BLM needs your input on a new plan that could impact the management of 3.2 million acres of public land. Stand up for wildlife conservation and responsible land use. This is a critical opportunity for hunters and anglers to ensure that these lands are managed in a way that balances conservation, recreation, and economic activity to help serve the communities that depend on these landscapes. https://bit.ly/46W8yik=

Wetlands are critically important ecosystems that improve water quality, provide wildlife habitats, maintain ecosystem productivity, reduce storm damage and improve water supply. The Métis Nation holds strong cultural ties to the land and water across the Homeland with a deep respect for its diverse ecosystems. Through our Conservation Program, the Métis National Council supports Governing Members with advocacy, policy analysis and program development that advances Métis-led conservation and restoration of lands and waters. On this Earth Day, we’re calling attention to the fact that America’s grasslands are vanishing at an alarming rate. These are the prairies, savannas, glades, and sagebrush steppe lands in our own backyard communities. These ecosystems protect our waters, soils, and climate. And as this grassland habitat disappears, so do the wildlife populations dependent upon them. Today, more than two dozen conservation organizations have joined forces to underscore the importance of grasslands habitat conservation. Please visit https://lnkd.in/gj6qnF5M to learn about the magnitude of impact this habitat loss has had on 15 iconic grassland-dependent wildlife species, ranging from birds to mammals and fish to insects. #mapforgrasslands #actforgrasslands

We’ve protected more than 1 million acres of working forests across 21 states with a total economic contribution of $850 million through our Working Forest Fund. These working forests sustain tens of thousands of American jobs, store hundreds of millions of tons of CO2, protect and enhance habitat for key wildlife, filter the water we rely on every day and so much more. Millions of acres of these vital forestlands are at risk of fragmentation and development. Learn more about how we are acting now before they’re lost forever: bit.ly/3QQyDZm.
