We recently caught up with Donya Jalali, a Social Worker who joined the Carlile Centre team at the HOpe Centre with Vancouver Coastal Health. Donya pursued a career in social work to leverage a social justice perspective in her interactions. She finds fulfillment in working with people and says, "I believe in the importance of looking at systemic barriers when supporting individuals." "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" -Martin Luther King, Jr. Happy MLK Day! Today we honor a great man wholly devoted to nonviolent activism for the equal civil rights of all Americans. This holiday is designated as a national day of service. As a human-centric leader, we invite you to find time this week to bring your team together and serve others. It doesn't have to be a big lift. Are there 15 minutes at the end of a meeting where you could write letters to seniors struggling with isolation? https://lnkd.in/duaTDxf Or could you spend 15 minutes registering for Career Village, where your team's expertise can educate underprivileged kids with questions about working in your industry? https://lnkd.in/envEe7R

🤝 The importance and impact of strategic partnerships 🤝 As I reflect on our journey at Community Health Choice, I'm struck by the profound impact of strategic partnerships in advancing our mission. True progress in public health isn't achieved in isolation—it's the result of thoughtful collaboration and shared purpose. 🛣 I've seen firsthand how partnerships with local organizations, from schools to faith-based groups, can amplify our reach and effectiveness. These alliances allow us to tap into established community networks, gaining invaluable insights and trust that we might not achieve on our own. 🤝 But strategic partnerships go beyond just expanding our reach. They challenge us to think differently, to see health challenges through diverse lenses. Each partner brings unique strengths, perspectives, and resources to the table, creating a synergy that can lead to innovative solutions we might never have conceived alone. Yet, building effective partnerships isn't without its challenges. It requires open communication, shared goals, and sometimes, difficult compromises. It's a reminder that the most impactful collaborations are built on a foundation of mutual respect and a genuine commitment to community wellbeing. How can we cultivate partnerships that not only address immediate health needs but also create lasting, systemic change? By working together, we can create a tapestry of support that uplifts entire communities, leading to healthier, more resilient neighborhoods across Texas. What are your thoughts on the role of partnerships in community health? #CommunityPartnerships #StrategicAlliances #PublicHealth

2moHOpe is an essential service and a leader in decorating space for uplifting rather than estrangement like most of the cement block mental health facilities tucked into other designated hospitals. It is wonderful to hear that Donya brings social justice to her practice there. It sounds like a terrific match in a working relationship.
