Venture Global LNG announced the successful launch of its first LNG vessel, the Venture Gator, at a ceremony held at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoji-si, South Korea. This milestone marks the beginning of a significant fleet expansion effort aimed at transporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States to various global destinations. The Venture Gator is the first of nine LNG carriers scheduled for completion across three shipyards in South Korea over the next 24 months. Equipped with state-of-the-art environmental and efficiency technologies, the 174,000 cubic meter Venture Gator will primarily utilize Venture Global’s own LNG for propulsion. 📍#LNGContracts 📍 ✅ #BW Group’s gas shipowner BW LNG has bolstered 🤝 its fleet with the acquisition of two 2️⃣ LNG carriers from Swedish tanker owner #Stena #Bulk.   ✅ The 2011-built tri-fuel diesel electric (TFDE) vessels 👉 Stena Crystal Sky and Stena Clear Sky have been picked up for an undisclosed sum and renamed 👉 BW ENN Crystal Sky and BW Clear Sky, respectively. ✅ The company said the sister LNG carriers “represent excellent versatility and capability for trading, in addition to potential conversion 🏗 into floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in the future”. ✅ The move on 174,000 cu m units takes BW LNG’s owned fleet 📈 to 34 vessels, including four FSRUs and four ships under construction at Hanwha Ocean in South Korea. Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Limited, a South Korean shipyard, and Alpha Gas, a Greek ship management company, partnered up to contribute a series of three LNG carriers to the Alpha Gas fleet by 2023-24. Alpha Gas boasts seven LNG carriers featuring a variety of engines, including TFDE, XDF, and MEGI. Energy Endurance is the second vessel following Energy Fidelity and succeeding Energy Fortitude. Both the first and second LNG carriers are propelled with XDF engines. Energy Endurance, the 1,74,000 cubic meter long vessel, was launched in the summer of 2023, and Alpha Gas announced its delivery on 23rd January 2024. Energy Fidelity flagged off with its first employment with a world-class Far East-based charterer immediately after its delivery to Alpha Gas in April 2023. Avenir LNG Limited (Avenir) today announces it has executed two Time Charter Agreements for the Avenir Advantage and the Avenir Accolade. Avenir’s affiliate Future Horizon (L) Pte Ltd (a joint venture between Avenir and MISC) has signed a new two-year time charter agreement with PETCO Trading Labuan Company Ltd (PTLCL), a trading arm of PETRONAS. 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Norwegian-based shipowner Ocean Yield AS has announced an agreement to purchase infrastructure fund CVC DIF’s share in the French company Geogas LNG. The acquisition provides Ocean Yield with an indirect economic interest of up to 34% in France LNG Shipping SAS (FLS), marking its entry into the LNG carrier sector. FLS, which is 50/50 owned by NYK and Geogas LNG, boasts a portfolio of LNG carriers on long-term charters. Currently, six vessels are operational with an average age of three years, and two more are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2025. Additionally, four newbuildings are set to be novated to FLS around the transaction’s closing and will be delivered in 2027. All vessels are employed on long-term charters to tier-one investment grade-rated European energy companies, with an average contract duration of 10 years, extendable to 14 years. The acquisition, based on an indirect economic interest of 34%, will add approximately USD 840 million to Ocean Yield’s EBITDA backlog. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2024, subject to customary conditions.

Cheap LNG is fuelling the LNG bunkering market as more ships with dual fuel engine are being delivered. It took FueLNG Private Limited 30 mths to reach 100 LNG bunkering operations, but it only took them 5 months to reach the next 50. Spot Asian LNG, JKM, is currently quoted at $9.8/MMbtu or ~$57 BOE while LNG bunkering price in Singapore is quoted by S&P Global at $12.8/MMbtu - a lot cheaper than marine diesel and it also comes with improved environmental credentials both less CO2, but even more so when it comes to air pollution (PMx). #lng #shipping #maritime #naturalgas #gas #oil #bunkering #oilgas #energy #freight
