Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights - Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law
The Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights just released a new thematic factsheet on persons with disabilities. The factsheet presents main reforms adopted by the Council of Europe member states in response to judgments from the European Court, improving rights of persons with disabilities in various areas of law: legal capacity, detention, placement in social care home, discrimination, etc. I am pleased to have drafted this thematic factsheet and hope it will raise better understanding of persons with disabilities’ rights and the way the Court’s case-law contributed to their protection.
