Our team members in Port Moresby recently took part in a Sports Day that was held at Ela Beach. Guided by our FIRST values on Fairness, Inspire, Responsive, Serve and Together, the day was filled with fun, excitement and celebration as teams engaged in various sporting events ranging from outrigger canoeing to raft building, flour passing, tug-of-war, and touch rugby. Everyone had a great time! At Kina, we are all about creating an inclusive environment where our team members can collaborate effectively, and where there’s fun and excitement.

Last Friday, I made a huge blunder as a stand-in goalie. Normally, I'm a midfielder. Because of my mistake, we lost 1-0 in the final moments. It was a tough moment. Everyone makes mistakes. The key question is: how do you handle them? How do we at valantic handle mistakes professionally? 1. Our management team will always supports you, in good times and bad. 2. Trying new roles and activities, like my stint as goalie, is embraced. 3. Colleagues are there for you, especially when times are tough. 4. Failures are seen as valuable learning opportunities. 5. We believe in learning by doing. Fail fast, learn fast. That’s why I’ve been with valantic for 21 years. I am so proud of our culture. (Photo: start of the season)
