Statkraft’s half year underlying results are the third best in the history of the company, despite lower energy prices. Higher production, stellar energy management and strong results from Market activities explain the strong underlying results. High investment activities, that will yield profits in the future, and impairments due to shifts in hydrology in Turkyie and Albania explain a negative net result for the quarter. Growth in renewables continue to be strong, driven by lower prices in solar and onshore wind. Statkraft is well positioned for continued profitable growth.

In a significant move to fortify their longstanding partnership, COSCO SHIPPING Lines and bp have officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation. The ceremony, held in Shanghai, saw the presence of notable dignitaries including William Lin, bp Group Executive Vice President, and Lin Ji, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING. Simon Yang, bp Group Senior Vice President and bp China President, along with Chen Wei, Deputy Head of the Operations Division of COSCO SHIPPING, signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations. Having a robust history of collaboration spanning several decades, bp has been actively involved in China’s energy industry since the early 1970s. Congratulations to our client SEFE (Securing Energy for Europe GmbH) on signing an agreement to acquire the 50.02% stake in WIGA held by joint venture partner Wintershall Dea. With the transaction SEFE will become WIGA's sole shareholder. WIGA is the sole shareholder of German regulated gas transmission system operators GASCADE Gastransport GmbH and NEL Gastransport GmbH. These two independent subsidiaries of WIGA operate onshore gas transmission networks in Germany with a combined length of around 4,150 kilometers and a direct connection to five European countries. The transaction is still subject to merger and subsidy control approval by the European Commission.
