I want to thank Indeed and Elise for moderating this great panel discussion. Reflecting on the discussion, it’s evident that the integration of AI and technology in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives is not just about innovation but also about humanity. The conversation highlighted the importance of Grace and Humanity in our collective journey towards inclusivity. As we harness the power of AI, we must remember to: Empower Diversity: Ensure ongoing evaluation of AI models to ensure it is supporting the identification of diverse talents, especially those with disabilities, enhancing work capabilities and performance. Ensure Equity: Ensuring were evaluating the data were using to train our models to mitigate bias and to ensure that were making data accessible to underrepresented communities is crucial for equitable opportunities. Foster Inclusion: AI must be ethical and unbiased to truly benefit recruitment teams and organizations and avoid perpetuating harmful stereotypes. Integrating AI in recruitment also demands careful consideration to maintain the human touch. It’s about enhancing human decision-making, not replacing it. AI should be used to support and augment the recruitment process, ensuring that every candidate is evaluated on their merits, skills, and potential contribution to the organization. As we continue to learn and unlearn, we discussed the importance of grace in the process, sharing our humanity and striving for a more inclusive journey.
A Great Discussion is Underway in Canada! 🇨🇦 Hosted by our great friends at Indeed & moderated by the fantastic Elise Marcotte M.Sc. 11 senior HR, Talent Acquisition, People, Culture & Diversity came together from across Canada to discuss: Breaking Bias Barriers: AI Integration in Recruitment for DEI Advancement! Senior executives from organisations such as KPMG Canada, Randstad Canada, Wildbrain, Sodexo, WSP, Northland Properties, Manulife & Mechanics Hub were all taking part! Thank you to everyone!

Supplier Diversity isn't just another buzzword; it's a strategy that can redefine our economy. In pursuit of a prosperous, innovative, and equitable future, both government and big corporations must step up to champion supplier diversity. But here's the catch: Apart from a 5% target for Indigenous suppliers, our government lacks other clear supplier diversity goals. Here’s what we must do: ✅ Set concrete procurement targets for all diverse suppliers ✅ Foster mentorship programs and networks ✅ Utilize robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms Our peers, namely Australia and New Zealand, have seen great success from setting clearer strategies. In Australia, over AU$ 3.3 billion in contracts went to Indigenous businesses by 2020, surpassing the initial targets. The world is moving fast; let's ensure Canada keeps pace and continues to thrive.
