We bridge the gap between Canadian women-owned businesses and larger corporate & government buyers.
About us
WBE Canada (Women Business Enterprises Canada Council) is a non-profit organization and certifying council for Canadian women-owned businesses. We certify Canadian businesses that are at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by women, introduce them to opportunities with our government and corporate members, and provide best practices resources and training on how to do business with large organizations. We also advocate for supplier diversity in Canada, and partner with governments, women’s business centers and other women-based communities across Canada. If you run a Canadian women-owned business, visit wbecanada.ca/get-certified now to learn how you can access larger corporate buyers in Canada and the US. If you’re a corporate or government buyer, learn how you can access our certified women-owned business suppliers and get support for your supplier diversity program at wbecanada.ca.

Businesses owned by diverse groups are key drivers of economic growth in the region. Collaboration between governments and the private sector is essential to expand support, grow new partnerships, and create supply chain opportunities for these businesses. A key highlight from the report shares that “𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒅𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝟓𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 $𝟏.𝟐 𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔.” 🤩 Certification empowers women-owned businesses by connecting them with corporate and government organizations committed to supplier diversity. For women entrepreneurs in #AtlanticCanada, certification means: 1️⃣ Increased visibility 2️⃣ Business growth 3️⃣ Community support WBE Canada certification enables and promotes growth through programs such as the Atlantic Canada Mentorship Program launched in 2022 in partnership with Centre for Women in Business (CWB), Nova Scotia and ACOA - APECA or hosting Supplier Diversity Days - our in-person events in the region. We are proud to continue driving diversity in Atlantic Canada’s business community! Shoutout to all the corporations and government organizations making an incredible impact by embracing supplier diversity in their supply chains! 🙌 By prioritizing diverse suppliers, these corporations are not only driving social impact but also creating tangible economic opportunities for underrepresented groups.
