An example I have seen act in ways that command respect for you and your team: act ethically, act with integrity, even when no one else would know. Demonstrate appreciation by celebrating team members' contributions on a regular basis, which allows them to feel valued. Empower each member of your team to take ownership for responsibilities and provide a voice in decision-making processes in which trust in capabilities can be demonstrated. Be consistent and predictable: follow through on commitments, using that as a guide. Lastly, allow for free interaction in a manner that there will be an environment where the team members can talk freely without being judged; this promotes a kind of trust to ensure that cooperation prevails.
