♻️ Across the world, #OrganicViticulture has grown by 13% a year over the past decade. Argentina is now one of the top 10 producers of organic grapes and wines worldwide, especially with organic #MalbecArgentino. 🍷🇦🇷 Our country has doubled its hectares with organic certification and, as one might expect, Malbec is the most successful variety among Argentine #OrganicWines. 📣 According to Victoria Brond, the oenologist at Alpamanta Biodynamic Wines: “Malbec’s flexibility and adaptability to the terrain helps us to regenerate the soils, implementing regenerative viticulture and organic and biodynamic practices without too much difficulty.” 🗣 The growth of the #OrganicMalbec category is now being seen in the market. This is confirmed by Alejandro Kuschnaroff, the winemaker at #ErnestoCatenaVineyards: “Consumers are notably gravitating towards organic Malbec. The prejudice against organic wines that once existed has gone.” 💬 So, what should we expect when we open an organic Malbec? Gustavo Bauzá from Casa de Uco - Vineyards & Wine Resort explains: “In sensory terms, both aromas and flavors, there isn’t a great difference between organic Malbec and the rest. Two partners' project, WINE-PRO – Digital twin for WINE fermentation PROcess optimisation, has been selected as one of the top 9 among 58 submitted for funding through the HIGHFIVE initiative. This selection highlights the project's significant potential and relevance in today's agri-food industry. WINE-PRO project is an interdisciplinary cooperation approach to apply, consolidate and deploy a technology of digital twin to the wine sector with new system deployment in Puklavec Family Wines company. The main development goal of the WINE-PRO project is fermentation process optimisation with correlation to carbon footprint of wine products. Project partners: Smartis and Puklavec Family Wines. This project has received funding from the European Union’s i3 programme under grant agreement No 101083989.
