📢 We need more diversity in nursing! More Black nurses, more male nurses, more minority nurses - this story is a perfect example of the progress our healthcare industry desperately needs. I recently wrote an op-ed highlighting the disparities faced by healthcare clinicians of color. It discusses the alarming levels of racism in healthcare towards minority professionals, leading to early career burnout and increased stress. Stories like this give me hope! Let's continue to celebrate and promote representation in nursing and medicine. Together, we can create a more inclusive and effective healthcare system for all. 🏥💪🏽 #DiversityInHealthcare #NursingProgress #InclusiveMedicine
🎉 We're thrilled to celebrate a groundbreaking achievement at Southern University School of Nursing—making history with their largest-ever class of Black male nurses! The American Nurses Foundation’s collaboration with Southern University reflects our commitment to promoting diversity in nursing. Very exciting indeed - an important part of the story, not to be missed, is hearing an #intentionalrounding leading practice from the #CHRO - visiting the frontline teams. UMMS has prioritized becoming an #HRO for their system and this is one great example of how that filters down into action. LENS is a Vizient, Inc technology that creates local learning areas; gives voice to the frontline and promotes performance improvement collaboration - creating dynamic and healthy local #cultures because that is where the magic happens for the patients we serve. #patientsafety #performanceimprovement #localculture #leaderrounding
I make a point of visiting our member organizations in person. These visits allow me to see firsthand the patient-focused actions our team members are implementing at University of Maryland Medical Systems. University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center team members Chief Nursing Officer David Hunt and Director of Nursing Practice and Outcomes Jaime Van Allen highlighted their emphasis on consistency in care during my recent visit. Nurse Manager Brandi Caver, MSN, RN-BC discussed the unit’s Learning and Engagement System (LENS) Board, created to improve processes and foster collaboration, resulting in dynamic and unrivaled care for our patients.

You never know who you are going to see on the other side of the world! The Aggie network is always at work. While presenting my research in Singapore, a previous graduate nursing faculty of mine, Jodie Gary, was also presenting in the same room. #TAMUNursing #AggieNurse #NursingResearch
It's a small world after all...especially if you're an Aggie!👍 Our very own Dr. Jodie Gary recently attended the 35th annual International Nursing Research Congress (all the way in Signapore!) and ran into a former Aggie nursing student who was there presenting his PhD work! Such a cool moment for Dr. Gary and our school as a whole. Aggie nurses are the best nurses! #TAMUNursing #AggieNurse

I cannot think of a better 30 minutes to learn about XR in nursing education than Dr. Cait Yeager on #ExploreXR. She is incredibly succinct and entertaining as she summarizes use of XR at Ursuline College. We get asked many questions by customers and prospects alike: ❓How do we use XR in our curriculum? ❓What is the value relative to traditional, analog methods? ❓How do students react? ❓What is the value of MR vs VR? ❓Does XR scale? ❓Is XR economically advantageous? Dr. Yeager answers all of these and more! She and her colleagues have done an incredible job of implementing XR that we can all learn from. Highly suggest you give it a listen.
In this episode of ExploreXR, David King Lassman is joined by Dr. Cait Yeager, who serves as the Director of the Health Resource and Simulation Center at the Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions at Ursuline College. She has over 18 years of experience as a nurse with a specialty in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing and has over 10 years of experience as a nurse educator. https://lnkd.in/gUj_Hw8F
