📍Meet Amal, one of the World Food Programme's drivers in #Gaza. ⬇️ She was one of the first to enter Gaza City to deliver lifesaving food to families in desperate need. “My main motivation is knowing that I contributing to providing assistance.” Thank you to Amal and all humanitarian aid workers who continue to do all that they can to support the people of Gaza.

🚨 First convoy in months crossed from Chad to Sudan on Tuesday evening at the Adré border. The World Food Programme trucks are heading to Darfur to deliver life-saving food and nutrition supplies to communities in desperate need. ⬇️

We are excited to announce the launch of our Erase Hunger campaign to support school meals around the world! The World Food Programme is the world’s largest provider of school meals – in 2022, WFP provided school meals to more than 20 million children in 59 countries. But still, 73 million children need school meals around the world. Over the coming weeks, we'll tell the stories of children, parents, partners, and communities worldwide impacted by WFP's school meals. #DidYouKnow: The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (#SOFI) report warns that the world is falling significantly short of achieving Sustainable Development Goal (#SDG2), Zero Hunger, by 2030? The report, published by five United Nations specialized agencies including the World Food Programme, details that global hunger levels have remained high, with between 713 and 757 million people facing undernourishment in 2023—approximately 152 million more than in 2019. If current trends continue, about 582 million people will be chronically undernourished in 2030. Now, more than ever, WFP needs support to end hunger, food insecurity and all forms of malnutrition.
