The SDGs serve as an analytical framework for the assessment of different sustainable development dimensions, which extend beyond the time frame of 2030 #SDG targets. Resource Synergy is honored to be selected to support the Nisqually Indian Tribe through the development of a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP). CCAP is a strategic framework adopted by tribes to address climate change through mitigation, adaptation, and resilience measures. A CCAP outlines goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainable transportation, and protecting natural resources. These plans typically include community engagement, policy recommendations, and timelines to achieve climate objectives, ensuring a coordinated approach to building a sustainable, low-carbon future for the community. CCAPS are part of the EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The World Bank Bank Group’s Country Climate and Development Reports (CCDRs) underline connections between nature, climate, and development for individual nations, that are useful references for current country assessments, outlook and data. CCDRs reflect the different aspects of nature and environmental issues. These include such nature-based aspects as renewable natural capital (for instance, landscapes, forests, oceans, soil, and wild animals) and the benefits they provide, also known as “ecosystem services.” This includes provisioning services (such as fish, timber, or energy); regulating services (like nature’s capacity to absorb carbon, reduce erosion and flooding, and regulate rainfall); and “cultural” services (like local beliefs or tourism).
