Have you heard about the news of pollution in Jakarta? Currently, people pay attention to Jakarta's air quality. Many photos show how pollution covers Jakarta's air. That's why we need to take action collectively, right? CarbonEthics and PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) collaborate to create a sustainable Jakarta by increasing the air quality. You can contribute to plant mangroves to absorb carbon emissions. Let's plant mangroves and be impactful by scanning the QR code you find at Transjakarta bus station or visiting https://lnkd.in/g3cZyHPp. CarbonEthics' coastal community partners will plant the mangroves in Thousand Islands. #BlueCarbon #CarbonEthics #Transjakarta #BersihBerdayaBestari

The air quality in Jakarta has been showing unhealthy conditions for the past few weeks😷 On August 14th, 2023, President Joko Widodo urged policy stakeholders to take several initiatives and efforts to tackle this pollution issue, which include: ⚡Monitoring the industrial and power plant sectors, especially around Jabodetabek. 👩💻 Encouraging a hybrid working system for workers in certain sectors. 🌥️Considering weather modification to induce rain in the Jabodetabek area. 🌳 Increasing green open spaces in the capital city. So, what do Jakartans think about the recent poor air quality over the past few weeks? And do workers in Jakarta support Jokowi's call to implement hybrid working temporarily? We have recently conducted a survey to gather the public's opinion on this matter. Take a look at the results here 👇 __________ Got research needs? Populix is here to assist! Jakarta ranked most polluted city in the world. Indonesia’s capital Jakarta is the world’s most polluted city, according to a new study. Hotter temperatures, lack of rainfall, increased sunshine and low wind speeds are all factors that increase air pollution in Jakarta’s surrounding atmosphere during the drier months. PM2.5 concentration in Jakarta is currently 12.9 times the WHO annual air quality guideline value. A cleaner Jakarta can be built on the pillars of effective policy, collaboration and community-driven initiatives. Individual choices matter, but the coalitions and combined actions—as well as the voice of the city's population—holds the potential to bring about more significant change. #pollution #environment #savetheplanet #jakarta #indonesia

Various policy discourses have been proposed by the government to address air pollution, particularly in the DKI Jakarta. Several policies have also been implemented, such as 50% WFH for civil servants who do not provide direct services and monitoring of various sources of stationary air pollution (such as PLTU/PLTD, industry, incineration of waste, and electronic waste) in the Jabodetabek area. The rest is still at the stage of review and discussion. What policies do you think are "appropriate" to address air pollution in Jakarta? #XYZNews #Polusi #Jakarta #WFH #Sustainibilty #PercayaEcopreneut

Ever wondered how Jakarta tackles overpopulation and environmental challenges amidst rapid urbanization? As one of Indonesia's largest cities, Jakarta faces significant issues such as extensive land conversion, pollution from increased development, and rising food insecurity. The influx of people seeking economic opportunities has led to the transformation of open spaces into residential and commercial areas. This urban sprawl not only diminishes green spaces but also exacerbates pollution, impacting air quality and contributing to climate change. Additionally, the city's dependence on food imports due to limited local agricultural land further strains resources and increases carbon emissions from transportation. In response to these challenges, initiatives like urban farming are gaining traction. Efforts are underway to promote agriculture in unconventional spaces such as rooftops and balconies. This approach not only provides fresh and nutritious produce but also helps in preserving green areas within the city. SiPetaniDKI, a collaborative effort between DKPKP Jakarta and Perkumpulan OpenStreetMap Indonesia (POI), plays a crucial role by distributing free seeds and providing resources for urban farming. Through Ushahidi's open-source platform, residents can easily access seed distribution points and benefit from geospatial data, facilitating sustainable farming practices even in densely populated urban environments. Despite these efforts, the challenge persists due to high living costs and limited resources for many residents. Urban farming remains a critical strategy to enhance food security, reduce environmental impact, and foster community resilience in Jakarta. POLLUTION SOLUTIONS? The sharp decline in air quality in Jakarta has left everyone struggling for solutions. Jakartans responded in outrage over social media after an official at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry said the fastest way to resolve the problem is by praying for rain. The city has asked civil servants to work from home, sprayed the streets with water and will start fining vehicles that exceed emission standards. In that context, how can residents and workplaces make a difference? By minimizing the use of personal transport, for one. A study by PWC last year showed that 69% of Indonesian workers believe they can work from home. However, only 29% of workers said their company helped them minimize the environmental impact of their job. What kind of incentives does your firm have in place that can make a difference to air quality? #airquality #airpollution #jakarta #corporateresponsibility M&C Saatchi Indonesia

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐤 𝘈 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 The recent directive from President Joko Widodo, urging collaboration between the central government, regional governments, and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to integrate public transportation systems in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi (Jabodebek), is a significant step towards achieving seamless mobility in the region. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, highlighted the importance of this initiative following a meeting at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on September 27, 2023. This integration aims to streamline the transportation systems under a unified organization, enhancing convenience for commuters and promoting sustainable travel options. President Jokowi's call for integration is set to become a reality within the coming month, as stakeholders work together to establish a single organizational structure. This move aligns with the government's vision to create a more efficient and accessible public transportation network, making it easier for residents to navigate Jabodebek with ease. One notable aspect of this initiative is the introduction of an integrated ticketing system, allowing passengers to purchase season or monthly tickets that can be used across various modes of transportation, such as the LRT from Bogor and TransJakarta. This approach not only simplifies the commuting experience but also encourages more individuals to opt for public transportation, reducing reliance on private vehicles. In a bid to combat environmental pollution and reduce the economic burden of fuel consumption, the government is committed to promoting eco-friendly and affordable electric mass transportation. By extending subsidies for electric buses from 10 to 15 years, the cost barrier for adopting sustainable transportation options will be significantly lowered, further incentivizing the use of environmentally conscious vehicles. The integration of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway with the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and TransJakarta signifies a holistic approach to public transportation development in Jabodebek. Ultimately, this endeavor aims to improve the comfort and affordability of public transportation, gradually reducing the number of private vehicles on the road and addressing pollution concerns. President Jokowi's vision is not only to enhance mobility but to create a more sustainable and interconnected Jabodebek. #IntegratedTransportationJabodebek #PublicTransportIntegration #EcoFriendlyTransport #JakartaTransportation #CleanEnergy #SustainableMobility #IndonesiaInfrastructure
