I recently did a talk in Skolkova (the Silicon Valley of Russia) on my model: #Wings Theoretcal Framework, which will soon be adapted into a book. In this talk I discuss how to consider multiple #futures, where to use traditional vs #emergent tools and how "unthoughts" emerge. I demonstrate how these #disruptive events/ #technologies /etc emerge and flow into the various futures. Further, I share my new acronym: UNSAFE to describe the world today; not in terms of micro trends, rather macro means to understand the world today beyond simple #VUCA or #exponentials I then used the same framework for my talk at the United Nations University (United Nations University) , where trying to create #regulation for one possible #future is fool hardy; rather by understanding which kind of technology and future we expect, we can then create policies for that emergent future. Hope it's informative and useful - https://lnkd.in/d2smeiTA

Exciting News from Tartu: European Capital of Culture 2024 🌟 We are thrilled to share the latest news from City of Tartu! As the city gears up to embrace its title of European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 , it's also set to embark on its most extraordinary year yet for international conferences. Kicking off this conference year with a bang is the renowned sTARTUpday in January, the largest business festival in the Baltics. With over 4,400 startup enthusiasts expected to gather, the event promises a dynamic stage program, insightful seminars, an innovation exhibition, and engaging side events. But that's just the beginning! Tartu will play host to a diverse array of conferences in 2024, ranging from the Science Fiction Research Association and the European Society for Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies to the Association of European Printing Museums, Trans Europe Halles network, Learner Corpus Research, and the International Committee for Exhibitions and Exchange. For academics, the calendar is equally impressive, featuring events like the FOSS4G Europe Conference, the European Conference on Ecological Restoration, the BBBB conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the International Symposium on Applied Phonetics. Mayor Urmas Klaas rightly points out, "Given the sheer number of prestigious international events coming our way in 2024, we can already call Tartu's European Capital of Culture efforts a success, even before the year has begun." Tartu, often referred to as the 'City of Good Thoughts,' has long been a magnet for international conferences, particularly in the scientific and medical fields. Home to esteemed institutions like University of Tartu and Estonian University of Life Sciences, the city's robust research centers, biotechnology industries, and IT development hubs make it an ideal hub for knowledge exchange. We look forward to welcoming influential entrepreneurs, academics, and creators to our wonderful city. Get ready to be captivated by Tartu's charm and innovation in 2024! #Tartu2024 #EuropeanCapitalOfCulture #TartuConferences #CityOfGoodThoughts #MeetInEstonia
