It's not just the children who benefit from Chapter One UK's online reading volunteers programme. Amanda Blevins at Fidelity International explains how the experience has improved her skills, "Professionally, it has enhanced my communication skills and empathy towards others. It has helped me lead with more confidence. No matter how stressed I am during my working day, Jullya manages to distract me in a good way, and I will often find solutions to things I was struggling with after our reading session." Here is a solution.
Three Years - got it done! I am so proud to serve on a Colorado Department of Education facility school workgroup. For the last three years we met monthly to set up new legislation, funding, and an entirely new school category for our wonderful community. Such an incredible group of leaders that volunteered many hours to make this possible. We celebrated together last week at the Daniels Fund. Specialty Schools are now a thing with SB- 23219! So many more opportunities for our community, and for TACT - Teaching the Autism Community Trades. This road didn't exist before, but it was needed, so we built it. Very grateful to be part of the team!

The critical partnership between parents and schools in a child's development highlights several important points: 1. **Foundational Role of Parents**: Parents are the primary influencers of a child's early values and behavior. The family environment sets the initial framework for a child's understanding of the world, their ethics, and their social skills. 2. **Schools as Key Developmental Partners**: Schools complement the foundational work of parents by providing structured education, socialization opportunities, and exposure to diverse perspectives. Teachers and school staff play significant roles in guiding academic and personal growth. 3. **Importance of Collaboration**: Effective communication and collaboration between parents and schools can enhance the child's learning experience. When both parties work together, they can address any issues more efficiently and support the child's overall well-being. 4. **Holistic Development**: A child benefits most when both their home and school environments are aligned in their educational and developmental goals. This alignment ensures a consistent approach to nurturing the child's intellectual, emotional, and social development. 5. **Community Support**: The concept of raising a child as a team effort underscores the value of community involvement. It takes a collective effort to provide children with the best opportunities for success and well-being. By embracing this partnership, parents and schools can create a robust support system that fosters the growth of well-rounded, capable, and resilient individuals.

🏫✨ Calling all change-makers and believers in the power of education! Join us in an extraordinary mission to build schools and restore hope in communities around the world. 🌟📚 In many countries, the demand for affordable and accessible schools is greater than ever. Sending a child to a local school is a luxury, and by building schools in towns and villages, we are igniting hope for a better tomorrow. Education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is a pathway to a brighter and more prosperous future.💡 💙✨ BRI wants to partner with ordinary people who have a heart for the Lord and a passion for making a difference. By building and restoring schools, we are not only providing quality education but also sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the community. A Christian education has the power to heal wounds from broken homes and guide children away from violence, alcoholism, and drugs. It is a powerful tool for a brighter tomorrow. 🙏📚 🌍🤝 By building schools, we are investing in the potential of every child, shaping their futures, and empowering entire communities. The impact of quality education reaches far beyond the classroom walls. Had a great lunch yesterday with the fam. It was a celebration of all the memories made this summer and the start of a new school year. This summer while the kids have been home, I have reflected a lot on how quick childhood goes and the legacy we leave with our kids. As we begin a a new school year, #simplicity is the word we are focusing on in our house. #Q4 is basically already here. How can you live more #simply? #voluntarybenefits #enrollmentsolutions

Would you say YES to the Y? I did. ✋ You would, too, if you check out the YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford's new strategic plan for 2024-28. At the board table, we call it the YES strategy. The focus? Youth, Employees and Seniors. YES! For a charity serving communities across three municipalities, strong internal capability (employees) is essential to meet the needs of a broad spectrum of people, from youth (under 30) to older adults (seniors). This plan was a year in the making, with board members, senior staff, employees and community partners engaged at different points during the process. For the past 2-3 years, many organizations have had to put a pause on long-term plans and focus on the immediate COVID-19 crisis in front of them. That's why this strategic plan is a point of pride for the Y of HBB; it's the first fulsome strategic plan as the organization recovers and rebuilds from the pandemic. So, do say YES to the Y. ⬇
We’re thrilled to share Igniting Potential to Save Lives – our new Strategic Plan that will guide our YMCA over the next five years. Read on to learn more about our visionary roadmap designed to ignite potential in the lives of young people, our employees and seniors. In creating the Bloomsburg Area YMCA - Community Resource Hub, our team has created five distinct goals that we aim towards every single day so that we can best serve ALL of Columbia and Mountour County residents. The official unveiling of the CRH is coming soon, but in the meantime, our team is preparing by doing all we can to best understand the resources available. GOALS: 1. Create a Community Hub that is designed to meet the everchanging needs of the community and provide safe, confidential services that strengthen family life and individual growth. 2. Serve more people through programs and services that fulfill community needs by being the premier provider of community programming. 3. Provide more Y-based counseling and services for children and adults in schools, homes and the community. 4. Foster connections between the YMCA and the Community by becoming a preferred community partner. 5. Broaden the ability to serve a larger audience by providing the resources needed in the community.
