I came across this quote - "Many supply chains are perfectly suited to the needs that the business had 20 years ago." As we accelerate the fight against malaria with vaccines and other initiatives underway, let us think about how our supply chain is meeting the current demand and the new order.

Despite worldwide efforts, malaria remains one of the world’s most infectious and deadly diseases, with 249 million cases and 608,000 deaths in 2022 globally.1 Innovating to help reduce malaria transmission cycles remains a key need in the global fight against this infectious disease. Testing and surveillance are important in detecting malaria, preventing transmission of the disease, and reducing transmission cycles, especially in asymptomatic carriers who may unwillingly spread the disease. In recognition of World Malaria Day, Abbott is raising awareness with education and resources designed to help people better understand the magnitude of this challenge and what is being done to combat it. In support of this effort, we are hosting a global webinar on May 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm CAT: The Road to Malaria Elimination: Lessons Learned. We encourage you to attend and invite others to hear our panel of experts discuss their experiences and efforts to eradicate malaria.
