How does your work foster gratitude? Last week at the Elevate: Partnering with Women in Business Event at BYU Marriott MBA Dean Brigitte Madrian talked about gratitude at work. She shared some really cool research and stats about how gratitude in the workplace helped all sorts of issues from retention to productivity to collaboration. It made me really grateful that we have a culture of gratitude in my workplace Zerorez, Inc. Every Monday we have a company huddle with the CEO Shawn Moon, the rest of the executive committee, every employee in our corporate office, and the corporate leadership across the country/world who are zooming in. Part of this meeting is doing shout-outs of how other employees lived into our company values over the last week and recognizing individuals for their contributions to the company. It is great to hear our leadership and peers praise people, every week, for things they have done; to hear verbal praise of men and women, often, and repeatedly. I believe it does indeed make a tremendous difference in the overall culture of our company and our morale. Gratitude is a free gift you can give your bosses, employees, peers, and even customers which returns large dividends, especially when it is part of how you operate.
