A sustainable journey: Lavazza Foundation's commitment to Cuba's coffee

In the heart of the island of Cuba, where the Earth is generous and the sun gently caresses the plantations, a coffee unlike any other is cultivated. Grown with care by the locals, it was born from a project started in 2018 centered upon sustainability, thanks to the efforts of the Lavazza Foundation, resulting in the creation of a Cuban economic association aiming to support structural development in the coffee production chain.

Together with local partners, through training and ongoing support for Cuban farmers, we are working for a future in which quality goes hand in hand with respect for the environment and biodiversity. The goal is twofold: to raise production standards and to ensure that each bean tells the story of an island rich in culture and tradition, with a product that not only delights the palate but also supports local development.

Our journey to making a difference: one year of Gap Free

Part of a process started in 2020, last year we officially embarked on a bold and transformative journey to reshape our workplace culture. Entitled Gap Free, its our pledge to create a future where every individual can thrive without barriers nor gaps to fill.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we look back to the steps that led us here. The remarkable year we've left behind is made of important recognitions, new projects involving colleagues from different countries, events with special guests and many more. While we take pride in our achievements, we can’t help looking forward to all that's to come in 2024.

This month, our Brand 1895 Coffee Designers by Lavazza showcased its collection at the Dolce World Expo in Rimini, elevating the art of specialty coffee. The 1895 Coffee Designers lounge became a vibrant hub of culture and passion, seamlessly bringing together the excellence of pastry and the world of coffee. Every day, our exclusive breakfast welcomed guests to indulge in delightful pairings of Marco Pedron's creations alongside our specialty coffee collection. Themed events highlighting pastry expertise were hosted by esteemed chefs like Giorgia Proia and Fabrizio Fiorani . Moreover, we had the privilege of hosting masters of haute patisserie, including Gino Fabbri and Iginio Massari .
