Meet the Budapest Team: Orsolya Hajsz, Finance Digital Transformation Team

Tell us a little bit about your career history to date?

As a graduate of the Accounting & Business Management field, I have always been enthusiastic about simplifying processes and making colleagues’ lives easier. My passion about automation started first when I joined the Reporting team of a company where I was responsible for manual Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) updates. I had to realize that during the process, there was always a chance for human error, so I started to simplify and automate the activity, which then I handed over to my successor as an easy-to-understand, controlled task.

I continued the journey throughout the Treasury team as a Bank Infrastructure Analyst, then later Payment Implementations Analyst, where I was responsible for supporting bank system implementations and ERP improvement projects. This experience led me to my current position, which focuses on the elimination of manual excel based solutions for the Local Regulatory team.

Why did you decide to join Citi?

My main motivation was to extend my knowledge within the Agile framework. At my previous company I had been involved with a project of an in-house built application during the enhancement phase, where I had the opportunity to act as the single-point-of-contact for both the business stakeholders and the development team. This type of job was the one, where I felt the most comfortable in, as I consider myself people-oriented, who enjoys learning the technical aspect of the work as well. My current position fulfils both of my interests.

What is your role at Citi?

I am a Senior Automation Development Coordinator, where I am responsible for End-User Computing (EUC) remediation projects. Our team, which operates within the Agile framework, provides KNIME solutions for EMEA region, where I am the main contact between the business stakeholders and the developers during the whole life cycle of the projects.

What have you enjoyed most about your time with Citi?

Firstly, what I value the most, apart from the great work-life balance, is that my opinion and ideas are heard and appreciated. It gives me the empowerment to improve my day-to-day activities, which can also influence others. Secondly, I enjoy getting to know colleagues from other departments due to the nature of my position, which allows me to see every situation from multiple angles.

What advice would you give someone considering a career at Citi?

Citi is a huge company, which offers great career opportunities. If you consider yourself as someone, who is ready to learn and respond quickly to the constant changes of the environment, then by the collaboration with multiple functions, you can achieve great success here.
