RFS Report, week of July 8

Greetings and welcome to this week's edition of the RFS Report!

The latest with remote vs. hybrid vs. on-site jobs 💼: what to know as a hiring manager or job seeker

The largest shift we’re seeing regarding remote vs. hybrid vs. on-site jobs (for the roles we hire)? It’s not necessarily that remote work is entirely going away. Instead, we’re seeing more hybrid roles become on-site.

Let’s look back specifically at the changes over the last six months for roles we recruited for. At of the end of 2023:

  • 24% were on-site
  • 52% were hybrid
  • 24% were remote

Now, in July 2024, we’re seeing:

  • 40% are on-site (+16%)
  • Only 37% are hybrid (-15%)
  • 22% are remote

So, while the percent of remote jobs hasn’t shifted much (although WAY down from 2021 and 2022), we’re seeing more roles that were previously one or two days a week in the office become five days a week in the office.

The good news is - if you’re hiring and want candidates to come into the office, you’re more likely to find hires who will be willing to do so, even more than they were six or eight months ago. And if you’re a candidate who wants to work hybrid or on-site - this is the market for you.
