 The market turned down so people left years ago now you want them back. How is this strategic management and planning of resources for a business? Short term goals longer term pain complaints again! Ever time this happens the same old rhetoric comes out to play

To say "nobody wants these jobs now" needs clarification to stop the BS about having to bring in 457 visa people of those who don't even need a 457 apparently from this article.

This is easily fixed - a royal commission or at least an investigation into every company involved who cannot get workers and the recruitment companies they use to Vett all the applications and assessments made that reject these people who did apply to show how many or little as the case may be they "do or do not" exist?

By deliberately limiting the fields to those who live in an area or even ex-Perth will constrain the ability to draw talent. For those who don't want to move then they may not really want a job either in reality. 

Poor planning and forethought from the mining industry that has yet to even contemplate the need to change? Same old same old tiered rhetoric on labour shortages once again.
