Last month, our Sales team grew one hundred percent, effectively doubling its strength - it was one person, now it's two. Nemanja is our new Business Development Manager and he will be our main man for tech pre-sales. To quote Djordje, our Head of Sales: “Nemanja plays basketball and loves cycling, grows tomatoes and raises honey bees. Some would explain it as an early onset of a midlife crisis, but I knew instantly these were signs of a person that's just brilliant in sales." Profit first, then people. Agree or disagree? That was the topic of the Debatak we had last Friday (a series of debates; more on that here - https://shorturl.at/Dctdp). The question is similar to the global dilemma of whether AI is here to help people or replace them in their jobs (it's cheaper, efficient and unconditionally obedient). So, people or money? No wonder the exchange was passionate. The "profit first" team were Milja Šijakinjić, Žiška, and Nikola Milosavljevicć, HR Fabrika. The "people first" team were Iva Majstorović, Enstring and Nikola Vuković, Evoke. Both were great - well prepared, sharp and fierce. This episode of Debatak was organized as part of Empple, the first employer branding festival in Serbia. The point of Debatak is respectful confrontation of opinions, the culture of dialogue, a healthy exchange and a smart kind of fun. The winner is irrelevant. Even when money is the topic, winning is completely inconsequential. However :) in the first vote (before the debate itself), the "people" stance was overwhelmingly leading. After the debate, we had another vote and "people" also won, but much less convincingly. The opinions were, so to speak, "balanced." And that is relevant. That is what Debatak is about :)

Sometime last year, while the world was brooding about how to use AI to improve their business, we asked ourselves how to do it first. This weekend in Rovinj, Predrag, our CEO, and Luka, our CTO, talked about what we did and where we are at the moment. To cut a long story short, we went off by defining our AI strategy. Then, we started with internal education and guidance, and made AI available for everyone, including non-tech people. We developed our own AI tool for them to use - a secure gateway to different AI models customized for us and our different departments, with a friendly interface and some neat functions and upgrades - to make it easier and help people feel safe, play and learn. Soon we reached a point where 50 percent of our employees used AI on a weekly basis. The idea was for people to relax and experiment, and come to realize on their own how AI can help them in their daily work. Which is already happening… At the HR.WEEKEND, Luka presented some specific uses of AI in the everyday business of HR. We asked the professionals for some potential cases, and Luka demonstrated how AI tools can be of help. The examples covered creation of HR procedures, analysis of quantitative data (namely, exit interviews) and an onboarding guide. Another part of the strategy was to boost our AI expertise and start implementing AI into products we develop. The point here is - to get more reliable answers than what your regular ChatGPT can give you, you need to ask it to forget what it knows and train the model for your own purposes - to teach it how to help you. Also already happening - we are working on a product where a specially trained AI model will be used to help companies navigate elaborate compliance landscapes.
