The energy transition will usher in economic growth and global emissions reductions. In Houston, this window of opportunity is significant. This new report, authored by RMI in partnership with the Greater Houston Partnership's Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI) and supported by the Mission Possible Partnership, highlights the potential benefits Houston can gain from decarbonizing its industrial sector and presents an outline for other jurisdictions to follow. The report outlines four key pathways for emissions reduction from 2025 to 2050: 1. Electrification 2. Energy Efficiency 3. Hydrogen Utilization 4. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Through its evaluation of three scenarios - a business-as-usual case, a selective investment scenario, and a net-zero scenario – this report showcases the potential impacts of industrial decarbonization on emissions reductions and job creation in the region. In the best-case scenario, Houston could see the creation of over 21,000 jobs annually while achieving net-zero carbon emissions from industry by 2050. ➡️Download the full report to learn more: https://ow.ly/soX150TQhNL
