In collaboration with ITF, UITP conducts a survey aims to collect comprehensive data on the employment landscape within the sector, focusing on direct and indirect jobs across various public transport modes. The collected information will be used to identify future needs, analyse gaps, and understand the impact of digitalization and other factors on employment. The survey targets both urban public transport operators and authorities. The link to the Survey is here: https://lnkd.in/eN5HY4MF The survey has also been translated into Portuguese, Spanish and French - Please let me know if you wish to have the translated version in the language you prefer to read.

Three days ago, I had the privilege of speaking at Brisbane City Hall, one of the city's most iconic heritage and cultural landmarks, which opened in 1930. We had a wonderful evening at Yutong Brand Night, celebrating the launch of Yutong Bus & Coach’s new technology, YUTONG Electric Architecture and other new products. Yutong has been a valued UITP member since 2009. In the past 15 years, we have witnessed Yutong’s remarkable development, leading the new energy revolution in the Asia-Pacific market through advanced technologies, innovative service models, and flexible localization strategies. During my speech, I covered the following key topics: 🚌 The adoption of zero-emission buses (ZEBs) in public transport networks to help meet transport emission reduction targets. 🚌The implementation of ZEBs policies and commitments across Australian states. 🚌The significant support our state governments have provided in ensuring that the transition to ZEBs maximizes local benefits. I also emphasized that: 🚌The transition to ZEBs in Australia not only helps reduce our environmental footprint but also brings significant economic, social, and operational benefits. 🚌The current and projected demand for locally built ZEBs far exceeds our current supply capacity. 🚌The shift to ZEBs involves more than just vehicle manufacturing—it requires the development of supporting infrastructure, integration with the energy sector, adjustments in network design and route planning, and the adoption of innovative technologies to support these buses. Therefore, As the domestic industry is facing challenges in meeting the growing demand and navigate the complexities of the large-scale transformation, it is crucial to open the market to foreign players in order to successfully achieve the ambitious goals of transitioning to ZEBs. At UITP, we aim to enhance the quality of life and boost economic prosperity by promoting sustainable transport solutions in urban areas worldwide. We are working hand in hand with our members to achieve this vision. For those interested in diving deeper into the world of sustainable transport, we warmly invite you to join us at the Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition, SITCE 2024, one of the leading public transport events in the region. With the theme "Smarter Journeys for Sustainable Cities," this event will explore key topics such as sustainability, accessibility, smart technology, and transport workforce etc. Find out more about this flagship event in the Asia-Pacific region: https://lnkd.in/gBR4MPyR UITP | UITP Asia-Pacific | Mohamed Mezghani | Jaspal Singh | Sue Chan | Shaun Tan | Poornima Singh | Nur Fadilla M. | Janet Fu | Loris Chan | Jiayi Wang
