Lilly Briggs, PhD, a current participant of the Tropical Forest Landscapes online certificate program and director of Finca Cántaros Environmental Association (FCEA), visited ELTI’s Panama Training Landscape in the Azuero Peninsula with David Rodríguez (FCEA, co-director) to learn more about ELTI’s model for field-based experiential learning. ELTI’s global training landscape manager, Jacob L. Slusser, facilitated the visit to ELTI’s network of research sites, demonstration areas, and model farms - providing Lilly a clear understanding of how a training landscape effectively transmits tropical forest restoration knowledge practically and engagingly.

Agus Bei, the founder and manager of the Graha Indah Mangrove Center, is an alumnus of the 2024 Blue Forests (Yayasan Hutan Biru)-ELTI Ecological Mangrove Rehabilitation Training of Trainers course. He recently led a training session on sustainable mangrove management for climate change adaptation and mangrove monitoring methods, supported by the Blue Forests-ELTI Leadership Training Program. The training aimed to enhance the local community's understanding of the importance of sustainable mangrove area management and mangrove monitoring. It covered topics such as the role of mangroves in climate change mitigation, mangrove ecotourism, rehabilitation, and monitoring activities.
