About this mod
This mod allows you to recruit several vanilla unique NPCs as settlers, makes many named settlers moveable between settlements, and adds new unique NPCs that can be recruited to settlements.

- Changelogs
- The patch will auto complete the associated quests (A New Threat, Head Hunting, and Restoring Order) so that Isabel Cruz will function correctly as a settler. The SKK mod opens the Lair but if the above quest lines were not complete, Isabel does not respond correctly.
- The patch also provides Jezebel's head so you can build Jezebel if you wish.
- Currently the player will receive the experience points for completing these quests. I am looking at adding an option where the player can choose to get / not get the experience points. I prefer to start a new OpenWorld game with more experience, but that may not be preferred by others.
Patch Installation
The patch mod must be installed before SKK Openworld is enabled in your game. Both mods can be installed a the same time, but the patch will fail if my mod is installed after Openworld is enabled.
(a future update with new NPCs is in testing....Stay tuned)
I have created other compatibility patches for SKK Commonwealth of Decay which can be found in Miscellaneous files on my page Alternatives to Vanilla Settler Recruitment and Other Stuff
Important considerations Please READ :
- If you are running this mod or any of the mods below in an existing game, do not upgrade. Start a new game. The prior (prior to 5/27/2023) versions of these mods (non esl tagged) are not compatible. Do not mix the old (non esl tagged) versions with the new 'ESL Tagged' versions of the mods below; you will corrupt your saved game.
- Animal Rescue
- Nomads (Wandering Settlers)
- Recruitable NPCs
- Normalized Covenant Settlers (formerly Moveable Covenant Settlers)
- Install the new 'ESL tagged' versions only into a new game, or in-progress games where 'none' of the above mods are/were installed.
- The mods above all require the ESL tagged version of the RL Recruit Framework.
- For changes made to vanilla NPCs to take effect, this mod must be loaded before you start a new game. If loaded into an existing game, settings made to vanilla NPCs (i.e. ability to recruit / move between settlements, may not be set correctly.) Other features, and the NPCs added by this mod, should work as intended.
Optional SKK OpenWorld F76 Patch considerations:
- The F76 patch modifies NPC records touched by the main file, as such any another patch that modifies the same record(s() will conflict (whichever patch loaded lower in the load order will win).
- The Mechanist Lair patch completes the quests associated with the Mechanist Lair and allows Isabel Cruz to function correctly as a settler.
- Both F76 patches must be loaded before enabling SKK Openworld. The SKK mod can be installed along with the patches but the patches will most likely fail if installed after SKK Openworld is enabled.

This mod
- Updates the workshop script properties on the existing 'named' vanilla settlers at the following settlements and allows them to be moved between settlements. I recommend completing any associated quests before moving named settlers who give quests.
Abernathy Farm
Finch Farm
Warrick Homestead
- Adds 25 unique named NPCs to be discovered and whom can be recruited as settlers. See the NPC list for names of the unique npcs.
- Optionally allows the following vanilla unique NPCs to be recruited as settlers (see spoiler below).
Donny Kowalski (supported with v 1.2 of the framework)
Phyllis Daily
Ronnie Shaw
Trudy
Patrick
Wolfgang
Simone
Leonard Moore
Parker Quinn
Isabel Cruz 'The Mechanist' The Mechanist Settler mod is not required when this mod is used
To allow recruiting the above selected 'vanilla' npcs you must enable a hidden option (see spoiler).
- Given the optional recruitment of Trudy, Patrick.. this mod pairs nicely with Drumlin Diner --- New Settlement ---- and with Doc Drumlin by SKK to provide a new early game settlement complete with a doctor. Since Doc Drumlin is unique she cannot be recruited directly, but if Drumlin Diner is a settlement, she can be assigned to that or another settlement via the workshop.
Hint: several of the new unique NPCs were added in locations to benefit settler recruitment in the early game
