Motorola DROID PRO Specs

The Motorola Droid Pro is a pretty nice Smartphone if you don't ask much of it. It is one of the very few QWERTY candy bar phones that feature Android. It's size makes it easy to carry on a belt and it feels really good in the hands. There are very few phones like it that isn't a legacy Blackberry device. If you like this form factor, I suggest giving this model some consideration.

Keep in mind, this phone will not blow you away with it's features. It was released in October 2010, it is now almost 2016 which makes this phone a relic. What it does do is stir some attention, many people ask me what kind of phone it is, some mistake it as a Blackberry.

Keep Facebook, Messenger, Linkedin or any other social media off of this phone. Trillian works okay for a chat client but I wouldn't try anything else. All of those apps are way too advanced for this older device. I have a tablet that I use for my social media applications, I don't need it on my phone.

It does the basics including phone calls, texting and e-mail. Light internet surfing is possible but you wouldn't want to ask much of it. It is great for getting phone numbers from websites.

This device works well for that special someone who prefers a QWERTY keyboard and smaller size. As long as you don't ask much of it, the device works. If you want all the social media and modern software, you should look elsewhere.

In general, I love this phone. Great keyboard, responsive touchscreen. Horrible battery life, though. Ended up rooting the phone, getting rid of the main battery draining apps, setting the CPU to scale between 300mHz and 1gHz depending on need, and setting up a task killer for everything else. I can now use it all day, including streaming a good bit of music and only have to plug it in at night before bed. If I didn't use it for streaming, I'd probably get a lot more. Basically, if Motorola/Verizon didn't load it with so much crap it would be an almost perfect phone. The screen's not as big as some of the other phones, like the Thunderbolt, but I like the overall size of the phone better. Would definitely recommend if you didn't intend to keep a stock configuration. Otherwise, look elsewhere. It also feels kind of cheaply made compared to some of the other offering out there, but I haven't suffered any hardware problems with it.

This phone is perfect for my everyday use! the portrait qwerty is fantastic! The touch screen is wonderfull. Sometimes there is a server malfunction, but only if you have many apps running at the same time. I would defenitly reccomend this to a friend!
