Approximately i have used one year this phone. When i bought this, it has a 2.1 eclair operating system in the phone next couple months 2.2 froyo update surfaced. There is no big difference between 2.2 and 2.1 expect flash support. After froyo update daily battery life decreased significantly. Before the update, battery drains approx. 2 or 2.5 days (open wi-fi, open push mail, closed gps, auto screen light) after froyo update battery drains 1.5 and 2 days. i think short battery life is general problem for all smart phones.

Solid and metalic external design seems very strong and it is really strong. But it makes phone heavy.

İnternet connectivity is excellent i have used bb storm2 before this phone and milestone has a great android browser. its really fast and stable. i have tried opera in milestone. Opera and android browser almost same as.

5 megapixel auto focus cam is not satisfied me too much, but it works

Internal memory completely disaster. Lots of applications must running on memory card. İ didint root the phone. cause of this i couldnt remove orginal applications from the phone. Pre installed applications wasting phone memory.

Multimedia phone supports mp4 videos. i have experienced if you install another app from market you can play wmv videos.

After one year i didint understand what happend but phone regularly freezes and i have unmount the battery for the restarting i think i m approaching the memory limits...

I've used Windows mobile back when it was CE and not actually networked. (I had a compact iPaq with a home soldered cable to do a dial up 14.4 connection through my cell phone. My latest phone being and HTC touch. Windows Mobile had really run it's course for me and I didn't feel I could tolerate it's slow development anymore. I had a very difficult time choosing between the Sony Experia X10, iPhone and Milestone. The Xperia will never have multitouch according to sony, and the iPhone only has a 3 MP camera and no Flash. I'm in Canada, so even if an iPhone 4 comes out, it will be a year or more before it is available here.

The first day I must admit was frustrating. Learning WHERE the settings were after having used Winmo, took some time. Now that I'm used to where things are, I like it better. The sensitivty of the screen is excellent and very "iPodish" which is important. With the 2.1 update, there are lots of home screens, and the 2.2 update is supposed to bring Flash support. Something iPod also lacks.

The device itself seems heavy on paper, but once in hand it doesn't feel like a whopping 170 grams as stated on the specs.On average, it is heavier than most but the screen is so big.

Keyboard is quite decent and with my large fingers I'm still able to type accurately at a decent rate. I simply could not accomplish this with the onscreen keyboards of the Xperia or iPhone. If you do heavy texting make sure you check out this feature.

Camea is fast taking under 2 seconds to fire up from a short cut. It's slightly long from the button because of the required delay so your not aways starting the camera by mistake. Photo quality looks good. It's still a camera phone however and won't completely replace a point and click camera, but with stablization and a flash, it's not just usable, it's not bad. I've found camera phones to be useless up until the most recent generations.

Media sound is great. It if very loud by comparison to any device I've owned in the past. On the PDA phones I always found them difficult to hear if you left them in a coat pocket. This puppy can be cranked.

MP3 Player is basic, but very functional. I put about 700 songs on the device by copying directly to the SDCard instead of using sync software. This means it's playing full 320 Kbit versions, and using the AUX jack in my vehicle provides better sound that my Zune or my wifes iPod. The compression technologies of the commercial MP3 players always reduces the bass, trebble and stereo separation. Since this phone allows you to copy the songs without proprietary sync software, this limitation is removed. Of course, this comes at the cost of few songs on the device, but I'll buy more SDCards in the future.

GPS seems OK. MotoNav, the included GPS program seems a little bit strange to me, but I haven't really given it a chance. You get 60 days free, and then it's a paid service. It's a great feature to have in the phone though, especially with all the free apps out there for hiking, running etc. You can disable to GPS to save battery.

WiFI has come a long way, but I would really have prefered this have N and not just B/G. I also found the location of the MAC address to be a bit of a pain. It's under phone status rather than in the Networking area. The implementation of the WiFi is awesome however. It switches between WiFi and Cell network flawlessly saving my rates automatically for me. Maybe this is the Android operating system that gets credit, but it's great.

Anything that could be done to reduce weight would be great, but with such a large screen and slider keyboard........
